Happy Mother's Day!Another Mother's Day is here! Happy Mother's Day to all of my friends--I hope you have a wonderful day. Steve worked last night, so he is asleep right now. He bought me a very sweet card. We'll be heading to church in a bit, then we're going down to my mom's for lunch. We were going to order in food, but I was like, I can make a really good meal for so much less! So I'm bringing down ingredients for Lemon Chicken Stir-Fry--I'll have to bring my own stir-fry pan, but I have all of the ingredients prepped--veggies washed and cut, chicken diced & cooked. We'll just have to cook the pasta. We've had such a busy couple of weeks. I know I had said that I was going to blog--sorry about that. I also said I was on a diet--that's not working out so well, either. :( So we got a new window in the kitchen! I guess there was something wrong with the wooden casing, and the landlord had to replace the whole window? No idea, but the window looks great!
Ignore all of the allergy meds on the window sill--I promise, I'm not running a CVS drive thru window! A couple of weeks ago, we had a lovely dinner with our friends, Kyle & Beth. We're so blessed to be friends with them! Here's Steve, pulling Patience on their rope swing:
Love her face!
Kyle & Beth
A rare picture of their daughter, Ashley, laughing. I had just used my best European photographer to the stars voice to tell them to "make love to the camera" (Ashley is the blonde--she's with her friend, Margo).
Earlier that same day, my mom and I attended a bridal shower for (follow me here) my mom's cousin Leo's daughter Michelle. :) It was a lot of fun, although my mom complained that no one gave her any lingerie--my mom said she liked to scope out "fresh ideas" at bridal showers. I'm still washing my mind of that image. ROFLOL Here's the beautiful bride-to-be:
The wedding is on 6/27--Steve can't come, but I'll be going with my mom. The reception is at the Biltmore in Providence--swanky!! -- On to the bane of my existence: ANTS Here's a shot from when they were working on the new window.
Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten much better with the construction finished. Steve's caulked, sprayed ant stuff around the foundation (and yes "ant stuff" is a technical term), they just keep coming. At least it's the tiny ants, and not the huge carpenter ants. Small blessings, eh? -- Okay, I have to go get ready for church. Happy Mother's Day again! I'll be back soon with pics from Mystic Aquarium, softball, fishing and more. :) 9:00 AM - May. 10, 2009 - post comment
