Amazing Grace 2 Homeschool

• Jan. 20, 2009 - I am back

2009!!  Today we brought forth a new President in office. Let us remember to pray that God will lead, guide and direct  our new leadership filling them with wisdom, knowledge, mercy and compassion!!

So I have been absent from blogging for awhile. To be honest, I totally forgot about it. I had a good friend of mine call me today and mention the fact that I had not blogged in quite awhile.   "oh yea, that's right I have a blog"!  So here I am after all these months.

I left off at week 5 in homeschooling. We were doing the "Adventures "in My Fathers World.  Since then, we have slowly made a transition over to using the Rod and Staff curric. Ds seems to like it being a bit more structured and enjoys the text books. I have to say I am enjoying it as well.  We still follow loosely the MFW teachers manual because I love the books and the biblical aspect it demonstrates. We are in week 19. (We took 2 weeks off at Christmas time).  Well that is enough catch up for one day.

I really will try to ~remember~ to blog more ...LOL!

Blessings,

Janny

• Sep. 17, 2008 - Week 5 in Adventures

Week 5 Adventures finds us learning more about how to share God's light in our day to day life.  "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12

Along with Spelling Power, we now have added our Primary Language Lessons.

As we explore American History, we have been  introduced to the Pilgrims who wanted freedom to worship God in their own churches.  We added them to our historical timeline.  We will be finishing the book "Squanto" and the remaining book basket books on Pocahontas and John Smith.

Ds has enjoyed the Constellations and looks foreward to the Science experiments when they are recommended.

Our activities for week 5: Make an Oiled paper window (like the pilgrims)

Make a sun wall hanging, plant corn, and nature walk.

Now to go and start school....have a blessed day!

Janny
