Happy Birthday Mom!!!
Today is my
mother's birthday and I just wanted to wish her a Happy Birthday!!! Wanna see what I got her?!

On another note, here is my entry for
SAMIAM's contest.
I don't know what it is, but I'm fasinated by spiders and sharks. Spiders I'm not afraid of, but you wont see me touching these anytime soon. These spiders are almost 3-4 inches big. In the last picture, there are a few babies there too. Enjoy!!!

We have spiders like that around our house. YUCK! They are called golden orb spiders (common garden). I looked them up on whasthatbug.com a while back, and that's what they said it is. Here is the link to info on your spider.

Cool spider. I'm with you, I'm not afraid of them but you won't see me touching them either. One summer we had a bunch of those spiders in the yard. But I haven't seen any since. I think that's strange. But what do I know about spiders?

Hey, it's Anonymous here -- can you guess who??? It has been quite a while. Have you moved yet? Gosh you are getting all fancy-shmancy with your blog -- it makes my head spin. Your SUPERANGEL thingy gave me a flashback of a t-shirt I had when I was just a young whippersnapper. You know those t-shirts with the shiny decals you could get made? I still remember the smell of the shirt as they were being ironed on. Unfortunately that was when I was about 8 and you were about 0, okay maybe not that young, maybe one or two months old!
Your mama is going to love that plate! It's beautiful. She'll look into your sweet face and say, "Oh, I should have named you...Superangel" My gosh am I in a silly mood today!

Happy Birthday to your mom! What a coincidence your mom on the 14th and my daughter on the 15th. We had a whole bunch of spiders like those around our Georgia home once near doors and windows. They kept getting bigger as they ate their victims. It was like arachniphobia at my house then. Blessings.

I am so glad most freakish creatures like that cannot survive the winters up here in Minnesota! Ugh, I don't even like our plain little spiders... they eat other insects, I know, but I still don't care for them.

I KNOW what your spider is...............

IT's called a Zipper Spider! Because of the zig zag pattern they can spin in their web....it's like a zipper. They can also make their web bounce if they feel threatened or scared. They are fascinating to watch. We have them here in NC as well and we saw a WONDERFUL Video called Incredible Creatures that Defy Evolution........and the zipper spider is one featured in the series of videos!
Love the plate too! I hope your mom liked it and Happy Belated Birthdat to her.
