Internet Scavenger Hunt Contest
Since I'm not going to be able to blog for a short while so I decided to have a contest.
First, search the internet with the clues in mind, then enter your answers in a comment. You are on your honor to not read other people's answers before you go hunting. All of the solutions can be found at family safe web sites. Now, on with the questions...
- If you went to the Garden of Eden, how many black and white postcards would you buy?
- Which homeschoolblogger will you find in a state of utmost bliss?
- What does a non-acoholic beverage and the former Chief of Protocol have in common?
- Who helped put an end to nail biting?
- If you ever wanted to find a Creation like a "Pine and Calf Skin Cross" for $70, where would you shop?
- Who made a lot of dough, so much, that he became a millionaire by his 27th birthday? And what toy did he help invent?
Kris has agree to sponsor a $20 gift certificate to
BookCloseOuts.com for the winner of this contest. Please consider joining

Here are my answers and I didnt cheat I promise! Some of these were really hard, so I am kind of guessing.
1) Garden of Eden - if I bought one package I would get 8! http://www.cafepress.com/cathy_johnson.18507841
2) Hmmm. This one is really hard since nothing comes up on utmost bliss on homeschoolblogger! So my guess is Amber! :)
3) Former Chief of Protocol & Alcoholic beverages - you can find both in Aruba http://www.ircruise.com/destination1.html
4) End Nail biting with: Control it - http://www.stopbitingnails.com/ & http://www.momtomomchat.com/articles/nailbiting.html
5) Pine & Calf Skin Cross $70 - Cowhide Creations http://www.cowhidecreations.com
6) Play-Doh was created around 1950 by Tin Liu but marketed by Joe McVicker, who became a millionaire by age 27

It was granted a patent in 1965, but the formula for Play-Doh has remained top secret.
Joe McVicker, who was working for his dad at the time, became a millionaire before his 27th birthday.
Somebody fix my laptop, please! I obviously have way too much time on my hands.

Happy Belated Birthday
Posted by RugbyHS
Amber, thanks for this contest and giving us something fun to do while you were away from your blog. We miss you. My laptop is broken right now so this contest was a nice distraction.
This week has definately proven, "Broken computer = Clean house". I am running out of carpets to shampoo and weeds to pull. I might have to start detailing my van if the new power supply doesn't get here soon.
Love Ya, Miss Ya.... Happy Birthday, girl friend!

Hi
Posted by writmm
Amber, I haven't been by in ages and was tickled to see a contest that still appears to be open. However, what's up with you? I see references to you not feeling well. I hope everything is okay.
Here are my answers.
1. I would buy some 150 black and white postcards, 1 for each of Dinsmoor's original sculptures and one of Dinsmoor.
2. Heather Spittibeee who enjoys Sweet Potato Bliss
3. Shirley Temple Black shares names with the Shirley Temple drink.
4. Cowhide creations (when I googled pine calf skin cross, your website came up and the answer was there before me before I could keep from seeing it.) Otherwise, I wouldn't have found this. However, the website has a virus on it and made my Norton security go haywire!
5. This one is tough: here are my thoughts: www.stopbitingnails.com or a really bad sports team:) or The Watchminder which was invented by child psychologist Lauence D. Becker.
6. My thought would be the inventors of Playdough which were Noah and Joseph McVicker (I say this because of the dough/toy clues). However, they didn't apply for a patent for this until 1956 and that was the year that Joseph turned 27, so I doubt they were millionaires instantly. I would think even something like playdoh would take a little time to catch on. Joseph was born in 1929. When I googled 27 year old millionaire's there was too much out there to wade through! Wait...I just went and tried one last search and found this http://www.drtoy.com/toy_history/toy_history_timeline.html. Now this guy says McVicker (actually he calls him Clicker) was a millionaire by his 27th birthday. I still have my doubts because he introduced playdoh the year he turned 27 and it just seems amazing that little balls of dough would have bought him that much money that quickly, but that will be my answer...will I ever be able to sleep at night?
Thanks for the fun this morning and I hope you are okay!

Here is Ohio history on Joseph http://www.ohiohistorycentral.org/entry.php?rec=2658 I can't help but wonder if it is fact he was a millionaire at 27 or 'urban legend.'
