Dec. 26, 2006 - Christmas at Nana and Pops
We had a wonderful Christmas at my parents this year. It was ten times better than it was last year but I won't go there. In fact, I would like to forget last year ever happened.
We went down to my parents house Christmas Eve day. The kids all got hair cuts so that I could take their pictures without being embarrassed because I had shaggy-headed kids. Mom wanted pictures with all her grandkids in it so we gathered them up and promised them if they would sit and smile, we could eat and then they could open presents. Here are my several attempts at getting them to smile all at once:

Now I know why we haven't had a "family" picture taken in six years.
After pictures we had a big spread for dinner: BBQ sandwiches, shrimp, rotel cheese dip w/chips, sausage, cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, and a ton of Christmas goodies. After everyone ate we finally got to open presents! Here are a bunch few candid shots of everyone:
That's my mom (Nana) on the left and my dad (Pops) in the back ground.
This is my sister Jamee (yep, I do have a sister) and her son Chandler:

Blake showing off his Yu-Gi-Oh cards:
Brooks showing off his Yu-Gi-Oh cards too (that is the latest craze my boys are into):
Shelby with her new pj's:
Tyler with his new "Cars" race track. He was running a fever and coughing non-stop so he looks a little pathetic in most of the pics. This is the best one:
Micah with "my Thomas" (as he calls it):

Shelby and Hannah:
This is the only picture I got of my husband. It's not the greatest (sorry JM) but I wanted everyone to see that he was in fact there and he did participate in the Christmas festivities:
And last but not least, a picture of my parents beautiful, new kitchen. They had the cabinets installed, but my dad did everything else, including the tile countertop. This picture doesn't do it any justice. I wish I had a "before" picture so you could see the difference. It's absolutely gorgeous!
Everyone stayed up VERY late and then got up VERY early Christmas morning (we spent the night there). We don't do the Santa thing, but the kids couldn't wait to play with all the toys they got the night before. Then we had another big meal of Ham, bacon-wrapped green beans, baked beans, potatoe salad, and broccoli salad with pecan and pumpkin pie for dessert. Yummy! We cleaned up the dinner mess and then it took the next 2 hours to gather up everyone's stuff (toys, games, clothes, shoes, food, etc.) and somehow get it all into the Suburban. We made it home, unloaded everything and then everyone went to bed early. We were worn out from such a wonderful weekend! Thank you Mom and Dad for everything you gave us and for spoiling my kids rotten!
Merry Christmas everone!
