Fall Fun with HazelSweet Hazel has already arrived back at her home, but we still have some photos we took of her while she was here. I'll share those anyway. Hazel and her llama, Lena, enjoying the water fall at the JBC pond. Hazel and Lena and the pond. She's such a pretty girl, we took a few more photos near the pond. Hazel and some of her friends dress up for Halloween. From left: Candy Corn Hazel, Ballerina Danica, Kitty-Cat Charis and Cheerleader Dante. ![]() Hazel at DollywoodSo we finally got a chance to take Hazel to Dollywood. I know, we've taken other traveling dolls to DW, but Hazel has never gotten to go, so off we go to show her the Harvest Festival Celebration going on at DW. Traveling Hazel gets her new pet llama, Lena, and they get buckled up for the trip to Dollywood. YAY! After only 30 minutes in the carseat, Hazel and the family have arrived. When they arrive at DW, Hazel gets to snuggle up in the AG backpack. There are lots of pretty decorations at Dollywood celebrating the autumn harvest. She graciously posed on this old John Deere to please her host family. Hazel got to take a ride on the Rockin' Roadway. And she sat quietly in her seat to watch the production of Sha-Kon-O-Hey. But she was too small to be allowed to ride the Mystery Mine. The Mystery Mine looks quite scary anyway and Hazel was glad she didn't ride it. But she did get to ride the Village Carousel. What a fun day Hazel (and the family) had at Dollywood! ![]() Hazel meets the llamasFinally Hazel finds out what was supposed to be in those other stalls in the barn. The llamas! They are outside in the pasture. Here they are!Hazel with Sweet Dreams (white male weanling) and Red Baron (auburn male yearling) Hazel relaxing in the pasture with Red. Red trying to find out just who Hazel is. Hazel and Red Baron getting to know each other up close and personal.![]() Stuff with HazelSweet little Hazel has been having fun at AGR. We decided NOT to take her dirt-track racing this past weekend because she would come home so dirty...like the camera, cooler, bikes and we did. Here's a photo of Charlie racing anyway. ![]() But she did get to participate in Banned Books week. She chose to read Julie of the Wolves. Here she is with her dolly.Hazel also got to join the Solidarity Sisters in a fall picnic. Hazel is on the far left in the red jacket. Around the table from Hazel's left are: Maggie, Gwen, Dante, Willow, Sonali and Chrissa.![]() Hazel on the farmA new traveling doll has arrived at our home! This is Hazel Ying Lee, the traveling Women Airforce Service Pilot (WASP) tribute doll. Hazel arrived at our house this week and so far all she's been able to do is help with the animals on our Hobby Farm. She fed the cats, but only Molly showed up to eat. So Hazel went off to look for the other cat. She found Dolly sunning herself on the stairway. Then Hazel went to check on Snowball, the dwarf hamster. She didn't need any food. She just wanted to nibble on the bars. Next Hazel went outside to feed the chickens. They were a bit scared of her. And she gathered the eggs from the nesting boxes. Hazel ended up gathering six eggs! All six hens have layed today! Hazel was going to feed the dog, but she was afraid that the dog would rather eat her, so she stayed on the outside of the kennel. Lastly Hazel went into the barn stalls to see the rest of the animals. But she couldn't find them. Stay tuned. ![]() Back to School - 2009![]() ![]() Gwen, homeless no moreGwen finally arrived at our house to complete this year's Limited Edition girls. ![]() She's so sweet and innocent looking. Chrissa and Sonali are glad that their other friend is finally home. ![]() Little Miss PlaythingsThis year at the Little Miss Playthings contest I entered my Willow in the over 18 category and the boys each entered one of their dolls in the under 18 category. MotoFool entered his Danica and AGR's Son entered his Maggie. Each round had a different theme and we had to take a photograph of our doll that had something to do with that round's theme. Round 1 - hero; Round 2 - clothing; Round 3 - line; Round 4 - about me; Round 5 - anything goes. We had a blast trying our hand at making our entries fit the categories for each round. The winners for each round and the over-all winners were announced today. MotoFool's Danica was the only one who placed of all our family's entries. So we congratulate Danica on her 2nd place in the 4th Round category of "About Me". Here's her winning photo: ![]() After all, "It's really all about me!" says Danica. ![]() Josefina is complete! Here's Josefina modeling her Christmas Eve playset. This represents the final item that we need to complete Josefina's collection. We are very excited to have everything ever made for Josefina now.![]() ![]() Mother's Day Gift!Look who I got for Mother's Day this year. A total surprise for me.
![]() Meet Sonali ![]() Meet Dante! So we rescued a new girl this week. She's a JLY #26. She arrived from Missouri yesterday. Meet our newest arrival, Dante!![]() A beautiful spring day!![]() Nutmeg, Ginger and Licorice enjoying a spring frolic in our front meadow. ![]() RuthieNow we have all the historical dolls! Kit is so excited that her best friend, Ruthie, has joined our family. She came from a previous home in Ohio last week: ![]() She was still in her box and came with her meet outfit and her accessories too. I just think she looks lovely in Kit's school jumper. So now everyone's here. That is until American Girl releases Rebecca, the new historical from 1914, in late May. ![]() Josefina's pianoThe most prized piece for any Josefina collector is her English Square Piano. It was only available from Pleasant Company (American Girl) from 1998-2001. We finally have one in our collection! Josefina actually has too much furniture now for it all to fit in her room, so she's put her piano in the living room area of the Dolls' House. Sweet! ![]() ![]() Pets!I took a picture of all my AG Pets lined up on the stairs to the garret. I should have turned the light on upstairs first as the horses are a bit dark. But oh well, here they are:![]() Message for Kayla: Since I don't know how to get a message to you because you're never signed in when you comment, here's the answer to your question about ear piercing. It cost $14 to have your doll's ears pierced at the AG Store, but that includes 7 pairs of earrings. You can send in your doll to the AG Hospital for an ear piercing service as well. Same price except you have to pay postage to send her and return her. But you can have her ears pierced at the Hospital while she's there for other services if you are sending her in anyway. Check out the AG Hospital web site for more information. ![]() Happy Valentine's Day!Happy Valentine's Day from the AGRescue team!
![]() ![]() Logan and HallieWe welcome Logan and Hallie to our American Girl Hopscotch Hill School doll collection. They are welcomed by their classmates, Skylar and Gwen. Now we have all four HHS girls in our home. ![]() Logan and Hallie came from Arizona yesterday from a friend who found them on her local Craigslist. ![]() New girls!Today's my birthday and this year I decided not to go to the Atlanta American Girl store for a birthday trip like I did last year. I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't go, but I got some great surprises anyway! First, the reason I didn't go, was that AG has a coupon code out for $10 off of a Chrissa doll if you order on-line. Well, I was going to buy Chrissa in Atlanta today anyway, so I saved myself the trip and money on my new girl. And the good news was she arrived today! ![]() Here's Chrissa in her pajamas with her llama, Starburst.
They are both so cute and sweet! The second surprise was that my husband had already bought me Emily for my birthday and he gave her to me today as well! ![]() This is Emily in her SwimSuit. She's so cute and squishy. I love her.
Two dolls in one day! How very blessed I am to have such a loving family. ![]() American Guy DollsAfter hosting Traveling JD for a while, our girls here thought that they'd like to have some brothers too. So I found these two AG dolls (formerly #21 and Samantha) and customized them to look like my real sons around age 11. Meet Rosco and CharlieWe gave these to the boys at Christmas and they were very pleased to meet themselves in doll form. We also bought a few of the older GoT outfits that looked more boyish (they both are wearing genuine AG outfits in the picture above.) So now we have too many AG dolls to take a group photo. There are 32 (18") American Girl (and Guy) dolls, 3 Bitty Twins, 2 Hopscotch Hill School girls, 1 Girl of Many Lands (Isabel) and 21 mini (6 1/2") American Girl Dolls here at AGRescue. ![]() Traveling DollsI've had a couple of questions from readers about Traveling Dolls so I've made this entry to help explain things. First, I'd like to take a minute to help explain what the Traveling Dolls are and why I don't post about them anymore. You see, the Travelers COME to my house. They aren't my dolls. They belong to other members of the doll forum. Their owners have decided that their dolls want to see the country (or the world) and send them out to different hosts for two or so weeks at a time. While the doll is staying with me I will post pictures of their activities while at my house. When they leave, I can't post any more about them because that's up to the next and subsequent hosts to post. I miss JD, Kealoha, Meadow, Alex, Cordelia, Nora, Sadie and Toast, but they are either still traveling around visiting other states, or have gone home for a visit or permanently. You can read about some of those travelers on their own blogs which are linked on my side bar. Some of the travelers don't have their own blogs, so we can't keep up with them anymore. Ah, fun times with all of them. Second, If you are an adult and a member of an AG Doll Collectors Club (such as AGPlaythings) you might be selected by a Traveling Doll owner to host his or her doll for a couple weeks. Most forums won't allow collectors under the age of 13 to join for legal reasons. One word of caution also, owners don't normally send out their dolls to new members and never to those under 18. There are just too many problems that could arise in either case. I hope this answers some of your questions and concerns about the Travelers. ![]() { Last Page } { Page 1 of 6 } { Next Page } |
