Nellie arrives!Since Ivy arrived a couple months ago, we decided that the rest of the Historical best-friends would have to eventually come to live at American Girl Rescue. Arriving brand new from AG last week, meet Nellie. Welcome to Nellie!![]() RosafinaOur newest girl arrived yesterday from New York. She is a Josefina, but since we already have two Josefinas, we call her Rosafina. Meet RosaEdit 10/13/08: Since I thought Rosa was coming with much shorter hair (see her make-over photos here), I have always imagined her with shoulder length hair. So I trimmed it up a bit, steamed out the kinks and now she's perfect! My beautiful, modern Hispanic girl, Rosa!![]() Ivy LingI hadn't planned on getting all the Best Friend dolls for our Historical girls. However, I ran across a great deal on Ivy and brought her home. I made her this tie-dyed shirt because I really didn't like her meet top. ![]() ![]() DustyWe went to some of the yard sales at the 127 Sale over the weekend where we found and adopted our first Bitty Twin. She's a 2003 blonde, short-haired (retired) girl. Meet Dusty!![]() Maggie ScoutWe got a 2001 Kirsten from an AGPlaythings member. She was in pretty rough shape and you can read about that in this post. We got her this week from a neighboring town right here in Tennessee. Her former home called her Scout. We call her Maggie. So meet Maggie Scout! ![]() ![]() Baby PollyI'm not sure Polly counts as an AG doll since she's technically an accessory, but we're going to count her among our girls. Baby Polly is Felicity's little sister. She comes with a wonderfully made wooden cradle. She's made just like a Bitty Baby only smaller! She's only 9" long and wears a long satin gown and bonnet. ![]() We were given Baby Polly and her cradle as a thank you from a friend for whom we got to do a favor. She's a very sweet addition to our family. ![]() DanicaWe have all thought that this AGoT#25 looked quite a bit like Danica Patrick, so when we finally found one looking for a new home, we adopted her right away. Our Danica arrived from Dallas today. Welcome to the family, Danica!![]() HHS GwenOur Hopscotch Hill School, Skylar, was getting lonely being the only 16" jointed AG doll in the family. So we found her a classmate, Gwen. Welcome, Gwen!![]() Charis joins usWe have adopted a new girl into our family. Charis {KAR iss} is a 1995 AGoT #15 (medium skin, dark brown eyes, textured black hair.) American Girl has just recently retired this girl, so she is no longer available from AG. ![]() Welcome to our family, Charis! ![]() Lily FlowerCheck out the newest girl to join American Girl Rescue! ![]() Meet Lily! It's so hard to get a good picture of her. She really is so cute, but I took over 20 photos of her yesterday and none of them turned out looking like she really does. She has such a unique face mold that is hard to capture on film. ![]() Isabel: Girl of Many LandsIn the winter of 2002 American Girl began manufacturing a series of 8 dolls and books to represent 12 year old girls from different countries of the world. Unfortunately they only sold them for 3 years. We got our first Girls of Many Lands doll, Isabel, today. Isabel is from the country of England in the year 1592. She stands 9" tall. Welcome Isabel!![]() Spring is here!Okay, maybe not the season, but the girl is here! Spring is our newest AG. She's a retired #20 (blond hair, gray eyes) We got her in another sweet trade from the same lady who swapped with us for Willow. ![]() Welcome to the family, Spring! ![]() Now there are Twenty Back Row: Kaya, Julie, Samantha, Felicity, Molly, Addy, Kit, Josefina, KirstenMiddle Row: Adele Rose, Kayafina, Darcy, Kailey, Lindsey, Willow, myMia Front Row: Jess, Marisol, Nicki, Mia Linda ![]() AGBA - BirthdayYesterday we went to because ![]() and we got to bring home The 2008 Girl of the YearMia Linda St.Clair ![]() Skylar! We got our first Hopscotch Hill School doll this week. Her name is Skylar. HHS is a series of four 16" tall, hard plastic, jointed dolls with books that American Girl made for the early elementary aged girl. They were only available from 2003-2006. Meet Skylar!![]() Addy & Adele RoseI found a lot of Addy things on eBay that I wanted to get for my Addy. The lot also came with another Addy. I figured we'd just sell her and keep her things. But NOOOO!!! This new Addy that arrived in this lot was a 1993 original issue Addy!! We just had to keep her. Here's a comparison picture of our Addys faces: ![]() Our beautiful 1993 Addy has her hair in the original braid and has softer, more pliable vinyl unlike the newer Addy. She is just gorgeous. (Addy never photographs as well as she looks!) So we've decided we needed to keep both Addys. And to minimize the confusion, we've made the 1996 Addy into a modern American Girl. ![]() Meet Adele Rose our new Haitian American Girl of Today. ![]() Willow comes aboardRecently, on the very fun doll forum at American Girl Playthings, I came across a person selling this beautiful, cut hair Kaya. ![]() I thought she was perfect for a "girl of today" doll, since she no longer had those long braids of Kaya. Also, I've always wanted to play with my Kaya's hair, but didn't want to take down those original braids. The seller also mentioned that she would consider a trade. So I sent her a picture of the re-furbished Josefina, that we had fixed up from her horrendous state. The seller was instantly in love with our Fosterfina and agreed to a 'trade'. So trusting one another explicitly we mailed out our respective dolls (UPS with tracking) and waited. It only took two days, and our lovely "Willow" was here! What a great deal. Welcome to the family, Willow. ![]() JulieWe went to American Girl Boutique and Bistro in Atlanta last weekend. Look who joined our family from that store: ![]() Ms. Julie Albright Now we need to get a wide angle lens to get everyone in one photograph! ![]() Felicity MerrimanFelicity came from Wisconsin to join our family on Saturday. She originally 'lived' in the same home as our very own Lindsey. They were glad to see each other again! Felicity enjoying a spot of tea!All together today, August 12, 2007 ![]() Kaya, Samantha, Lindsey, Jess, Kailey, Marisol, Mia, Darcy Kirsten, Molly, Speaking Rain, Kit, Josefina, Felicity Just waiting for Addy to return from the hospital and then we will all be together! ![]() Now we are 13Here we are all together as of today, August 9, 2007 Darcy, Josefina, Kaya, Jess, Molly, Kit Samantha, MiaKailey, Lindsey, Kirsten, Marisol, Speaking Rain (formerly Kayafina) Today is the premier of Julie, the new Historical Girl from the year 1974. Also there are "Best Friends" dolls for some of the girls: Nellie, Emily, Elizabeth. And as of today there is supposed to be a best friend for Julie: Ivy. Also when the new movie about Kit comes out, American Girl is supposed to release HER best friend, Ruthie. So it looks like it may be a never ending struggle to collect all the Historical girls! ![]() { Last Page } { Page 1 of 2 } { Next Page } |
