Apr. 19, 2006 - Curriculum
I have decided to change my curriculum choice for next year. I have chosen to use Sonlight Core K and 3, Math U See, and Sequential Spelling. If anyone has used these, I'd love to hear your feedback on them.
Well, my healthy living is continuing. I have now lost a total of 25 pounds. I am beginning a running/walking program. I have always wanted to learn to run/jog. I have always had trouble catching my breath.
I am up to blue belt in karate. I still love karate.
My oldest son has joined cub scouts. I think he will really enjoy it.
Along with living healthier, I have simplified my life . I have cut out a lot of the extras that just seemed to be robbing us of time and energy. We fill our time with family activities now.
Now, if I could just keep up to date with this blog! It is one of my goals this year.
Take care everyone!

Hi-
My son Josh (5) enjoyed SL Core-K. We will be using it again this fall with Josh now 8 and in 3rd grade along with dd 7, ds 6 and ds 5yrs. I am really looking forward to it.
Nice blog. I need to lose at least 15 lbs and eat better. Went to the Dr. and my cholesteral (did I spell that right?)was high. Eeeks!

We're just finishing Sonlight 3. It's WONDERFUL!! We've also done K, 1 & 2. They're all good, but Core 3 is where the books start dovetailing more. Plus I'm really enjoying the American history that I never learned. Oh, wait, you were probably wondering about the kids, huh? lol
Actually, I just today went to the library to get My Father's Dragon to read to my son. That's a core K book that's just too good!
I think I'm going to try Sequential Spelling, too. Keep hearing good stuff about it. Do check out the Schoolhouse Store at TOS (www.thehomeschoolmagazine.com) they have free shipping and carry the spelling.
I think you'll love your choices.

I've discovered you through a random blog.
I'm currently using SL K and MUS. We love them both!!
We are flying through the readers because we cannot put them down. You are really going to enjoy the core. I'm going to have to add in some sequels to slow us down a tad. We only started the core in Janurary.
MUS has been great as well. It amazes me at how quickly my dd catches on and understands the concepts being taught. I wish I'd learned math that way. I even wish that's how I had taught math back during my teaching days.
Anyhow, it was nice meeting you. I think you're going to love your curriculum choices!
Blessings,
Stefanie
