Oct. 30, 2005 - Not Mexican
Well, we went out to eat last night. It wasn't mexican, but a buffet. I must say, my least favorite place to eat is at a buffet. You see I have a germ phobia thing going on.
The thought of everyone who has touched the serving utensils before me just creeps me out! My husband laughs at me as I return to the table and quickly squirt hand sanitizer on my hands and the kids hands.
It is not only a buffet that does it to me. It is also shopping carts. I clean them off first. Then I wince when the cashier puts my things into the empty cart of the person that paid before me. I want my clean cart back!
Okay, I know some of you now think I am very strange. Hopefully, some of you can relate. I could go on, but I will stop at the buffets and shopping carts!
Here is another good recipe that the boys and I like to make:
Brunch Casserole (prepare the night before)
1 lb bulk sausage
6 slices bread
1/2 lb sharp cheddar cheese, grated
5 eggs
pinch of salt
3/4 tsp dry mustard
2 1/2 cup milk
1 (10 1/2) can cream of celery soup or mushroom soup
Brown and drain sausage. Tear bread into cubes. Beat eggs and add a little salt.
Spray or grease a 9"X13" baking dish. Place bread cubes in the bottom of the pan. Add sausage and grated cheese. Blend eggs, salt, dry mustard, milk, and soup. Pour over bread, sausage, and cheese. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Bake in preheated 300* oven for 1 hour or until set.

I love eating this casserole but I've never really known how to make it. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks for the recipe!
