Stonehead Blessings

Nov. 8, 2005 - Too busy to remember shoes

Well I've decided to make hot cocoa mix in jars for holiday gifts. I like to have "jar" gifts on hand as extra gifts. Yesterday I had bought all the jars and ingredients, or so I thought. After washing all the jars and assembling all the ingredients, I realized I needed another ingredient. I quickly grabbed my youngest and told my hubby that I'd be back shortly. When I arrived at the grocery store and got my boy out of the car, he pointed at my feet and began laughing. I had on my house slippers. I was so caught up in the business of my plans that I forgot to put my shoes on. Well, I thought briefly about going home to change, but then I just shopped with them on. I was embarrassed, and Jacob just kept laughing and pointing it out to every person we passed.

I did get the ingredient I needed and made 36 jars of hot cocoa with the nice fabric tops and all. I just have to get lables to print out for the front of the jars.

Today we had karate(yes, I take it with my boys). I tried to really go for it in class today. This is the first time doing push ups and punches since my breast reduction surgery on Aug. 31. I'm sore but glad I got a good workout. Hopefully this means a full recovery and many more good workouts and not more sore neck and back!

Hot Cocoa Mix for jar gifts:

2 cups nonfat dry milk

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup cocoa

1/2 cup non- dairy creamer

1 dash salt

Mix all together.

Add 3 to 4 tablespoons to your favorite mug and fill with boiling water.

My only problem is that I have to mail them out to family. Maybe this year I will make them for the guys at the station! Thanks for the idea.

That's a really nice idea :-)
Made me smile about the slippers thing though, type of thing I would do!
