Cowboy romance novels. Thats what they are. There is everything in them which a man would love to read in a book: guns, shootin, good guys, bad guys, the West, hosses, steer, and most of all, the one.
Most of the books are like this, just with the names changed:
Hero- dusty cowboy not financially worthy of girls love, but has tremendous moral character and continually saves her from the low down scum rascals- his friends are always the good guys, one pardner in particular also having a love interest
Girl- usually rich ranchers daughter, and has a close friend or two who make up the other wimmen in the novel- girl is never smart enough to realize she loves Hero until she has tortured him sufficiently throughout- she is always the culmination of all the hero ever wanted or could ever hope to want
Heros unrequited love and his every thought of Girl make up the novels. All the other events in between are necessary to the plot, as is the setting (out West).
Tell-tale signs your husband is reading a Zane Grey novel:
1) Hes a huggin and a kissn you even more than usual
2) He calls your sons pardners
3) He reads an extra 45 minutes longer than usual
Dont ask me. Between the two of us, I am the only one who reads non-fiction at night.
The Zane Greys are an inheritance. I read one recently: The Dude Ranger. Hey, I needed a break
.it was fun. The author definitely knows how to hold interest!
Happy weekend.
