| Washing Machine
Our washing machine kicked up a terrible fuss,
Roaring and screeching exactly like a bus!
So brave Sir Daddy of Willow House,
Taught it a lesson, made it meek as a mouse.
Our clothes were in, washed but instead of a steady spin,
It thudded all over and I nearly jumped out of my skin!
In came courageous Daddy and put the rebellious machine off,
The cacophonic machine stopped abruptly with a frustrated huff.
The monstrous metallic machine had moved far from its pokey picketed pen,
But instead of pushing it back, Daddy pulled it right out of its den.
Now Daddy could clearly see,
What had caused the catastrophe.
The tyrannical transportation screws had not been pulled out, were still in place,
So strong smart Daddy yanked the troublesome tagalongs out, hes an ace.
Now the metallic monstrous machine has turned into a happy household helper,
No more does its roaring and screeching terrify us, perfect peace reigns, yes sir!

What is Christmas?
Christmas… What is Christmas?
a Santa Claus fanfare?
With reindeer, presents, little elves
and lights strewn everywhere?
Well, these things are great fun
and they’re not at all wrong.
But these surely aren’t the reason
to break forth in Christmas Song.
Then is it wondering, if Dad will get
that electric scooter I adore?
Or writing mile-long lists of things
that if not received, my parents I’ll deplore?
No, of course not! That is “MEmas”,
a disease that people bless.
When December is not far away
then ‘me’ is thought of in excess.
What then is the real Christmas,
if not all these things?
It is a time to praise the Lord,
a time when thankfulness should ring.
A time to pause and wonder at God’s love,
that He sent His only begotten son down here,
to die that our sins might be no more.
A time to marvel, how He holds us dear.
Also a time to give love away,
to bless our friends and try,
to copy our everlasting Lord,
who wisely rules all on high.

Mother
Loving and kind,
Unselfish mind,
She cares for her family,
Quickly and happily.
She lovingly cooks
And her gentle looks,
Will brighten the day
When the Sun's gone away!
I love my Mother
And there is no other,
That can take the place,
Of her sweet, loving face. |
