Fire and Saftey Skate
Someone in our area had a great idea. Our local skating rink
had a fire and safety skate. First we gathered for the fireman.
They showed the kids the outfit they wear and put it on. They
talked about stop drop and roll . Creating a plan of escape with you family.
I hadn't thought about it but with moving we hadnt done this. So I am glad we went. They also had another program for older children . We didnt get to see that one. All mine are young. They also gave the kids firehats and coloring books. Then the kids could skate. Although mine cant skate well they tried. It was like teaching them to walk. It was so cute.
By the end they were wobbling around without hanging on the furniture.
So we completed gym and health all at once.
Since we spent all morning away . I decided what better day than to go to the library. So off we went and collected some good books for reading. Princess got a Judy blume on tape for the car and some mary kate books. Comical picked one about sea animals, an animal lego book How to create them, and how to make airplanes. I was so thirlled to see in the new section that Beverly Lewis has a new series. The second book was in the new section. So I went searching for the first. The preachers wife. Sadly for me it was out . I will have to look next time. I can hardly wait!!!
So all and all it was a fun travel day.
Last night I began reading a good book called Hands-on Character building by Rick and Marilyn Boyer
I am only on the first chapter and already have some great ideas.
Hopefully we can incooperate some of them. It is a very easy read .
