Little Blots of Faith PUMPKIN LAPBOOK!!
Little Blots of Faith is hosting a meme Called LapLinks.
Every month Valerie will post a topic idea for a lapbook for young children.
This months topic is Pumkins. What you do then is post some links of places that you have found that have to do with pumpkins that might be used for a lapbook for little hands. I have decided to join in on the meme.. I have not had time to check out some of the other fellow participants as of yet so I hope I have not copied to many of the links.

On Kids Soup webpage I found two really neat ideas for a lapbook . The one is a cutting activity called the "Little orange house " and a pumpkin matching game. I also like the 5 little pumpkins craft and poem but think I would like to change the poem for my children. Something like this maybe..
5 little pumpkins are sitting on a fence.
The first one says oh my its getting late.
The second one says I smell autumn in the air.
The third on says the leaves are everywhere
The fourth one says lets have some autumn fun
The fifth one says I 'm ready for some fun..
Plop goes the apples and out comes the pie.
We are all so happy to see the moon so high!
Then it would be really cute to create the pumpkin scene and use velcro on the pumpkins so they can be added with the poem. I am thinking of making this the front cover of the book.
I also found in Kids Club
A print out of the life cycle of a pumpkin. One the page I linked to the printable is titled how a pumpkin grows. I think this will make a good mini book with in the lapbook.
This link is my favorite by far http://www.kinderkorner.com/pumpkinpatch.htmlI
want to type up the Jack happy Jack sad story for my beginnger reader to add photos and read as another mini book. There are other wonderful things in her to do I havent gotten to look at all of them yet.
Here is one more link to check out Mrs. Nelsons Class
I have also done in the past with my preschool class a whats inside the pumpkin book. After you dry pumkin sees you can create a pumpkin book. With seeds and yarn for the stingy things inside a pumpkin. You can number each page and then add that many strings and seeds for each one.
When My pumpkin book is finished I will post some photos so check back...
We are headed to the pumpkin farm on Friday so might add some photos to our book.

These are great! I like your adaptation of 5 little pumpkins! We're going to use this! It sounds like your cover page is going to be wonderful! That is a good idea. Can't wait to see it

little lapbooks

Thanks again for this great idea. I think this is something creative I could do with my 3 yr.old. He isn't ready yet for a lot of the activities I have saved/bought. I think they are more of a K level. He is working on colors, shapes though, etc. I think this could be a great preschool activity I could do with him. It's never too early to get them started on lapbooks, right? :)
