Christmas Carol Lapbook
A friend last week sent me an email about looking for a lapbook for a Christmas Carol. I searched around and didn't find one. So I searched some links for her at 4 am. lol and came across some really neat ideas. I was thinking of making one myself. Then I entered some book contests on Pay it forward and won some books one is The story a Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens!! So I guess you know we will be making a lapbook now on this too. I thought today I might share with you the links that I found in my search. I will post the lapbook when we are finished with it as always.
Tour Dickens Home Online
Here you can tour Dickens home online and learn all about his life.
There is also a link about how to create a timeline of his life.
Comprehension questions
Scrooge for Mayor lesson
This is a really neat lesson in what scrooge would do if he were mayor after his changes. You learn about life in london and what the issues would be in the time period. Then children are to create a poster or brochure saying why Scrooge would be a good mayor.
Unit on Christmas Carol
Vocabulary lists, Biblical references that go with the story,Comparing of the 3 ghosts, what ghosts would visit you. Lots of fun ideas.
The story online
Traditions of Christmas
Traditions of that time period and Traditions that we do now.
Worksheets and Puzzles
Lesson plans for 2nd graders.
Lots of fabulous idea. I love the idea of comparing the Grinch with Scrooge.
If anyone is going to do a lapbook on a Christmas Carol too please leave me any links you may have. Thank you
Right now I am off to create a craft for Company porch and to work on our printouts for our Thanksgiving lapbook. :)

Christmas Carol lapbook idea
Posted by mtnmamaof4
My kids' library group is reading 'A Christmas Carol' so I thought I'd have my kids (age 13 USAPUPPY and 10 CatfishOn) make a lapbook. This is our first attempt at making one but we've made unit study notebooks that sound similar so I'm not too worried. My younger son (7 BlueSky) is doing a lapbook about the Grinch which I downloaded for free from a homeschool estore. www.liveandlearnpress.com so I think we'll be doing a little comparing, too, since we'll most likely read both aloud. What an exciting way to celebrate the Christmas season!
God bless!

These are wonderful links. Thanks! I was planning to do How the Grinch Stole Christmas lapbook, but maybe I can do a combination. Hmmm.
