Happy 4th of July

Posted in Blogging

Happy 4th of July to all of you! I hope that your
weekend is safe and happy with family and friends. Please take
a moment of time to say a prayer for American soldiers or
a moment of silence for all those who serve our
country to keep us safe. Don't forget also to pray
for the families of these men and women who miss
spending time with their loved ones and fear daily
For their safety.

The Bucket List

Posted in Blogging

I stopped over today at Confessions of
an Apron Queens blogspot to hear about
her contest called the Bucket List.

I was curious right away when she mentioned
it in a post . Apparently she had watched
the Movie The Bucket List with Jack
Nicholson & Morgan Freeman.
I have not watched this movie yet but now I will
be sure to watch it. One man is a millionaire and
the other is a blue collar worker. They meet up in
a hospital when both are diagnosed with Cancer. They
create a list of things that they want to do before
they die. For the contest we are to write our
bucket list on our blog. Then link back to
her site. You can find her by clicking the graphic
in  this post. Each Friday she will
pull a name from the bucket list entries to win an
apron. Sounded good to me so here I go.....

To be completely honest this is really
hard for me. I dont really have a list of things
I want to do before my creator brings me to his side.
When I think about it I am really doing the things
I truely want to be doing. I live each day and
enjoy the little things that occur in that given day.

One such completed task is that I wanted soo badly
to be a mother to a large family. I am the mother
of 4 of my own children and 2 step children that
I call my own.  6 children sounds pretty large dont
you think . :)

I also wanted to be a teacher and since I homeschool
my children I have become a teacher to them
and within my church teaching about Christ.

The other task I have completed would be
spreading Gods word. Teaching about Christ
and his love.  I hope to do more of it in the future.

Now the list of things I havent done yet. Hmm
The more I think about it the more I can think of
Maybe not so hard after all..

1. see the Grand Canyon
2.  learn to quilt
3. Visit Disney world
4. See my writing in Print other than my blog
5. Buy my own home ( we rent)
6. Go on a mission trip to a different country
7. Read the entire bible. I know many of
the stories and teach it but have never
sat down and read it the entire way through.
I am working on it though
8. Have one of my paintings in a gallery. I
would even be satisfyed with a local gallery.

I think that might be it. I may just keep
this list and add to it .

Favorite Motherhood Moment....

Posted in Blogging

Motherhood Moments........

I was given 6 special gifts from God.  Each on a different
day each at their own special time and each in their own
special way. Four of them came from me and were
implanted in my heart from that beginning light until
eternity. The other two fell into my lap and are forever
imprinted on my heart.  Children are such special gifts
one that I take seriously and hold dear to my heart.

Those special motherhood moments are the ones
that are so small. That seem but a blink of
an eye.  They begin each and
every day when I open my eyes.........

Motherhood.

There is nothing normal about it.

Motherhood is entertaining....

Joyous....

Scholarly....

Loving....

"As one whom his mother comforteth, so will
I comfort you; and ye shall be
comforted in Jerusalem." Isaiah 66:13

Full of affection and hugs....

At times Tiring....Yet full.

Hair raising....

That deep down hearty laugh... giggle, chuckle
roar...gafaw...snicker and titter your way through..
You will make it with a smile.

Enjoy each moment. I know that I am.

Her Children Rise up and Call her blessed  Provebs 31:28
(Last mothers day:)

To Toad, Tom girl, Heart, Super boy, Princess, and Spirit...
Thank you for being such a blessing to me..

It is to decide forever to have your heart
go walking around outside your body."

Mesmorized by our art. :) Please take
some time to comment and tell us which is your

Oriental Women
By Princess Age 10

Let me introduce ourselves. My name is Nikki.
I am a mom of 6 of the most fabulous children.
At this time I homeschool the younger half of the group.
I love to read which if you are interested in hopping
to my Pay if forward book exchange post you can

Pay it Forward

Ocean View
by Mommy

I love ART . Watercolors and
pen and ink are my favorites. I also volunteer quite a bit
at our church. Ok thats an understatment. I work as staff
as the church nursery supervisor, Youth leader for children
3-5th grade, Sunday school teacher to preschoolers,
and assist with high school youth. My hope is that my
blog reflects my love of Christ, my family , and my art.
Many of these topics are on my side bar.

Soccer Boys
Super Boy age 8

Daddy (Adhd, Dyslexic) is a busy man and works at a lumber yard.
Amazingly enough he likes to spend his spare time
creating things with wood.
Dancers
by Princess age 10

My oldest daughter we call Tom Girl is 20
Years old.(has Add) She tells you like it is
and no one walks on her.
She is still working on what she
wants to do with the rest of her life. :)
I think she should be a lawyer. lol

Copy of Native American
by Mommy

Toad (adhd) is 18. He is the athletic type.
He loves to swim and has been on the swim
team and made it to districts this year.
He is starting track here shortly I think.
Hasnt quit made up his mind yet and is an
amazing Cook. He wants to run his own resturant
one day.
Jungle
by Super boy

Heart is 15. She is my evangelist. She
preaches the word of God where ever she goes.
Amazingly enough she started a prayer group at
her school in the mornings. I am so proud of her.
She Is on two praise teams and sings he heart out.
She is a leader and an HONORS STUDENT.

Friends
by Princess

Princess is 10. (Adhd, dyslexic) Princess is my
hardest. She can be hard to handle at times
and talks excessively joyfully. lol She loves
Science the most and her sister Heart. :)
I homeschool her . Our story about Adhd
and homeschooling is on my side bar. It may
take you awhile to read if you are interested.
As you can see Adhd and dyslexia play
a big role in our lives. It is still to be determined
if the younger ones have it. If you have a child
with adhd maybe youd like to read more
about how we cope with everyday life.
There is much on my blog about it. :)

Superboy Turned 8 on Monday. He loves games.
and Art like his mom. He has really created some
neat things lately. For his birthday we bought him a bike.
Even though it is pretty cold he goes out every day to
try to ride it. He is so gentle and giving to others. It
is not unlike him to give a child a toy of his
just because he likes it.
Cat
by Super Boy

Last but not least. Spirit boy is 2. He is
engergetic, playful and funny. My little sweety
and working on Potty training. Spirit boy is
just beginning to form words.

Now that you know us better take a look at my
side bar. Everything is there and organized. My blogging
schedule, my home management schedule, links for teaching,
homeschooling ideas, arts, crafts  and our family life.

I also write for homeschoolblogger on the Company
Porch. Its a website dedicated in helping others
homeschool. Every Monday I post a craft on
craft corner. Company Porch

The book is called  Shoot the Moon
by Billie Letts

In 1972 , windswept DeClare, Oklahoma, was consumed by
a terrifying crime: the murder of a young mother,
Gaylene Harjo, and the disappearance of a baby, Nicky
Jack. When the child's pajama bottoms were discovered
on the banks of Willow Creek, everyone feared that he too,
had been killed. Although his body was never found.

Now nearly thrity years later, Nicky Jack  mysteriouly
retruns to DeClare, shocking the town with his sudden
reappearance and stirring up long buried memories. But
what he discovers about the night he vanished is far more
than he or anyone bargins for. Piece by piece, what emerges
is a story of dashed hopes, desperate love and
an act with repercussions that
still cry out for justice and redemption.

Pay It Forward

Posted in Blogging

I have decided to join in on the this months
pay it forward book exchange. Overwhelmed
with Joy blog spot has started a monthy
meme in exchanging books. There are
many more books up for a chance to
win on her blog. I have two  books
to giveaway. If you would like to win
one of these books you must be living
in the US. You will need to sign Mr. Linky with
a link to your site and which book you would like to win.
There will be two winners. Come back on
January 30th to this post
to see if you have won. Both of these books
I have won on pay it forward, read and
enjoyed.

The first book I am giving away is
called Fair Game by Carol Cox.

Fair Game (A Fair to Remember Series #2)

Here is what is says on the back of the book.

Dinah moves to Chicago, looking for excitement, a new
job and her father. She finds all htat and more when
she meets Seth Howell, and intriguing mand and dedicated
preacher. When DInah offers to help Seth in his work
with Chicago's lower class, romance fairly blossoms. But
matters take a turn for the worse when Dinahs obnoxious cousins
Gladys , appears on the scene and begins looking for
love in all the wrong places.
When Gladys suddenly disappears, a plea to the Chicago
police force bears little fruit, prompting Dinah and Seth
to investigate on their own. But in their search for Gladys
they find themselves Fair Game in a maze of secrecy and deception,
putting their romance- and their very lives - at stake
Will Dinah live to expose the truth , or will she find herself
facing the point of no return? Will Seth, in his attempts to
protect Dinah , end up winning her love only to lose his life
?

The second book I have to offer is called
The Veil of Fire
by Marlo Schalesky

Veil of Fire

And this one...

The screaming flames surrounded the small town of Hinckley
before most knew to flee. Hours later, the surviviors picked
their way out of the ashes and began anew. For the thigh knit
town, the fire ment the inexplicable loss of  family,
devastating financial ruin, and the disquieting loss of faith.
While some agonized over words left unsaid the gestures
unmade, on man rejoiced. His secrets fled on the cinders of
heaven, along with everyone who knew them or had they?

But in the wake of the maelstorm stood a scorched child
of God, filled with resiliency , resolve and the truth-
the truth that would bring freedome and restore
faith in God and man.

Blog Anniversary!!!

Posted in Blogging

Tiany over at More of Him Less of me.
Is having her 2nd year blog anniversary!
Happy blogging Tiany!

By Joining in on her blog party you might
be able to win a package of Tianys Favorite things!
One being the Godly Tomatos book .
I have always loved that site. Amazing information.
In the spirit of joining in. I am to list
My favorite things on my blog. So here we go...

1. I have to say that Created to be his Help meet is
also one of my favorite bible study books that I have
Found so far this year and their website

www.nogreaterjoy.org
I completely agree with you, Tiany!

2. My other favorite this year has been
Times Tables the Fun way!  Princess Struggled and
stuggled with learning her times tables.
I was so glad to finally find something that worked for her.
I can't say enough about it.

3. I love my
Tres Emme Freeze gel for my hair. My
hair is very straight and has very little volume to it.
If I wash my hair and before I dry it add a little dallop
Of the freeze gel my hair does what I want it to do and
stays in place longer.

4. Another product I have come to enjoy is..
Bath and Body works Anti Bacterial Soap
I am not sure which is my favorite scent because
I keep changing around. :) I have Melon in the
bathroom and cherry blossom by the kitchen sink.
I just got for Christmas  some of the foaming soap
so will have to let you know if I like that. I have to
say that I love most products from bath and body works.

5. I also found a new website that a friend recommended
to me (Sherri) for helping to become healthy . I am
really enjoying this community and will post more on
it later . You can track you weight , your exercise plan,
there are articles and a community of support all for free.
www.sparkpeople.com

6. On top of liking Raising Godly Tomatos
I also enjoy
www.premediatedparenting.net
Which they have also come out with in book form.

7. Last but not least I really am enjoying the
Online magazine called
Seasonal Delights.
This is a magazine that is beautifully done .
I have gotten a lot from it.

Again Happy blogging Tiany!!
