Dec. 13, 2005 - Introduction / Lesson Plans
Hello! My name is Ang. I'm a homeschooling mom to 4 beautiful children. I have two boys in 4th grade and a daughter in 1st grade. The baby is only 1 year old.
've decided to start this blog to chronicle our home-schooling journey.
Here is what we are working on this week:
Science: Last week we completed a study on the sun, moon, and stars. This week we are reviewing and will have a test Friday.
History / Social Studies / Geography: Christmas traditions around the world with brief studies of each country we cover. We're using the book Christmas around the World by Mary D. Lankford.
Math: continuing in our Saxon 5/4 and Math 1 textbooks. The boys are learning about the metric system, and using a compass. My dd is learning how to add 2-digit numbers.
Language Arts: continuing in our Learning Language Arts through Literature textbooks. Dd just had her first assessment (blue book) and we're moving on to the next section tomorrow. Boys are working on the journaling / letter writing unit (orange book). I plan on making them write a Christmas / year-in-review letter this week.
Misc: We are making tons of paper snowflakes and Christmas ornaments.
We are taking a Christmas break next week. I'm not sure when we'll start back, but I don't want to take two weeks off. We are just starting to get back in the groove after the Thanksgiving holiday, and we're a bit behind in our books because we didn't start until October.
