Church History "Factoid" Week Ten

Week Ten
King James I of England was the son of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scotland.  He was King James VI of Scotland before inheriting the throne of England from Elizabeth.  His mother was a Catholic.  His predecessor, Queen Elizabeth of England, was a religious moderate who allowed both Catholics and Protestant Calvinists freedom of worship.  King James was a homosexual, frivolous, and self-absorbed.  He attempted to continue religious moderation but conflicts between the sides broke out.  The king called a conference because of the problems, but no common ground was found, and the only achievement of the conference was the commission of a new translation of the Bible known as the 1611 King James Version.

I didn't know anything about King James except he was somehow responsible for the KJV. I'm wondering what source you are using in your study of church history.
