Children's Museum

Took Elizabeth, Elijah and Madelyn to the Children's Museum today.  They LOVED it!  There was lots to see and do there.  Madelyn and Elijah loved playing in the ballsThey all loved playing dress-up in the firemen clothes.

Elijah could barely walk in the fireman boots they were so heavy!

Madelyn just enjoyed the hat and riding in the fire truck! Isn't she a cutie?

Elizabeth is just a doll all dressed up!

All had a great time! (including mommy)

We got Maddy!!!!

Tonight we met my in-laws at church and were able to bring my niece Madelyn home with us.  She will be two years old on Saturday!  She is just the sweetest little thing and makes me long for another one of my own.  She is quite the talker and repeats just about everything we say.  Tomorrow we are going to take her to the Children's Museum.  I just know she is going to have such a blast.  Elizabeth and Elijah LOVE to have her with us.

My Valentine Sweethearts

I am so incredibly blessed.  On Valentines Day hubby took us out to a restaurant in Angeles Oaks called the Oaks!  We had a great time.  We all overate (isn't that what a celebration is about??)  Hubby brought home flowers for me and a wonderful card. We got the kids one gift each.  Elijah received a Bible cover.  He has been wanting one for a long time.  I couldn't wait to give it to him.  Elizabeth received book 3 of the Elsie series.  She was just completing Book 2, and was very excited to get it.

Here is a picture of my 3 blessings:

Grandmother's Hope Chest

I have found the most wonderful projects to do with my daughter.  They come from Grandmother's Hope Chest.  There are going to be 12 books and projects in the series. However, only 3 are done to present.  We are working on the first one: The Running Rooster.  We are making a sampler to be turned into a potholder.  We are learning the even basting stitch as well as the running stitch.

While working on these there are many great conversations with my 10 year old daughter, Elizabeth.  We are really creating a strong bond.  Something I have always prayed for!!

I will post pictures once I figure out how to.

A Peak Into My Garden

I just love this photo!  It just makes me feel so serene.  This is a statue in my garden of a mom loving on her child.  I am so blessed to be homeschooling so I too can be like this statue and not miss any opportunities to love on my children!

Our Newest Family Member

Meet Dragon!  My son received this Bearded Dragon from his Daddy for Christmas!  When hubby told me what he was going to get Elijah, I freaked!!! I told him go ahead, but I'm not cleaning that cage or feeding the little guy.  This little guy will grow to be 1 1/2 - 2 feet long!!!!

Well, after having Dragon for a few months, I have come to love the little guy.  He is getting bigger each day.  I now hold him daily and feed him!!  He even responds when I call.

He is becoming quite the hunter.  We started out feeding him meal worms, but he was not satisfied, so now we feed him crickets.  It was funny to see him with the crickets at first.  Since we got him as a baby, he hadn't had experience with hunting.  He was very clumsy at first, trying to catch the crickets.  But now he is getting the hang of it and his much thicker middle shows it!!

So, the next time you want to get a new pet, think about a Bearded Dragon, they really are cute. And if held from day one, will let you handle him without biting (even when he's 2 feet long!!!)  They have a personality of their own!

Imagine My Surprise

in the Spring last year when I was out watering my plants and had the dog out with me and I saw this!!!

I heard my dog barking and growling I turned around and this is what I saw.  I screamed so loud (didn't think it was possible to scream that loud). My hubby came running outside and I ran INSIDE, once I was inside my beloved dog followed (she is my shadow) then the wild cat, once she saw lunch was no longer in sight, took off back into the forest!

Oh, what adventures I plan to have in this new house!!! But I could do without a close up with another wild cat my  WHOLE lifetime!!!

So....

It's been quite a long while since I've added an entry.  I guess I haven't taken myself too seriously when I said my new motto was "Just Do It!!."

Later today I am going to try to post some pictures.  I just need to figure out how to do it.

My Surprise Tea

Today, my daughter, Elizabeth, went sneakily downstairs. I could hear some clanging going on in the kitchen. After a while she called her brother and I down and this is what we saw:

We had a very special time!  I look forward to spending many more special times with my jewels.

Trying out my blog

I am definitely not a computer literate person.  So bear with me as I try to manage getting this thingy set up.  So many of my friends are setting these up and so I thought I would venture into this new world.

Today we are doing school (as usual).  Later this afternoon we will meet hubby at his work so we can take my father-in-law's truck back that we borrowed to haul all of our recent declutterings away.

I'm excited to get out of the house this afternoon.  I'm hoping to talk hubby into dinner out.

Well, gotta get back to my duties.  My new saying for this year is "Just do it"...no more sitting on my behind and thinking about doing it and whining about doing it, "Just do it!"
