Adding Meaning to My Days

Imagine My Surprise

in the Spring last year when I was out watering my plants and had the dog out with me and I saw this!!!

I heard my dog barking and growling I turned around and this is what I saw.  I screamed so loud (didn't think it was possible to scream that loud). My hubby came running outside and I ran INSIDE, once I was inside my beloved dog followed (she is my shadow) then the wild cat, once she saw lunch was no longer in sight, took off back into the forest!

Oh, what adventures I plan to have in this new house!!! But I could do without a close up with another wild cat my  WHOLE lifetime!!!

This is one of my biggest fears - mountain lions. I haven't seen one yet, but we know they are around. And our neighbor saw one last summer that went after a horse on her property FROM our property. EEK!

DD is not permitted outside alone for this very reason (among others actually.)

I would have to second that. DO NOT let the kids ever go outside alone ever. I remember once reading in the Readers Digest that an 18 year old boy was attacked and killed by a mountain lion in Colorado. I am on the North Shore of Mass. and we have one in the woods here. It has been seen many times but has not been caught yet. Be careful with all of your pets too. I hope that it never comes back. I bet an air horn would scare the life out of it.
