~Announcing Alyssa Rose~
Hi all-I'm sorry I haven't updated in awhile. I had the baby on May 16 at 12:26pm. She weighed 7 lbs and 4.5 oz. I haven't had much time to get on the computer, but here are a few pics:
Here's Hannah holding Alyssa. She is such a big help to me!! Every baby should come w/ a big sister. LOL I can take a shower, weed the garden, even mow the lawn b/w feedings if I need to.
Here's Susanna & Jonah w/ the baby. This little girl sure gets held a lot--everyone is always calling dibs on who gets to hold her when.
Susanna loves Alyssa so much-so many people ask me if we are having issues with sibling rivalry-but we're not. We've never had problems with that so far (in the past w/ the other kids), thank goodness. Here are the 2 little girls together at home:
Alyssa is a very content & happy girl. She's sleeping pretty well at night already-getting up once usually, sometimes twice to eat. She came out knowing how to nurse well-which sure makes life easier! Labor was longer than it usually is for me, but everything went very well without any problems. Pat was a fantastic coach-my midwife & nurse both said it's too bad he couldn't be hired for coaching other women in labor. LOL
We've been blessed in many ways by friends & family. I was in the hospital for 3 nights, so my MIL stayed here all that time, plus 1 more night after I got home. Having her here was wonderful-she was a huge help-especially since Susanna had a very hard time w/ me being gone.
Several friends brought meals-even extra meals to put in the freezer. And one friend insisted on doing projects for me around the house. Not only that, but 2 blog friends sent me beautiful hand-made presents-thank you, Lori & Pietra-I was so touched by your thoughtfulness & the time you took to make such beautiful presents. I want to show pics of them here, but need to download the pics. I have thank you cards on their way to you soon!
The baby is 12 days old today & life hasn't slowed down much, but she goes with the flow & doesn't complain. We are enjoying her delicious babyness very much & I will be blogging less than usual, as you can imagine.

Congratulations! She is absolutely beautiful! I had to laugh at your comment about every baby should come with an older sister, AMEN! My 11 year old is a huge help for me. Glad you are home and doing well, take care of yourself.
