It's amazing how quiet the house is when the power is out. We woke up this morning to no power & coyotes yipping & howling. I kind of liked it-the totally quiet house, that is. Pat said that the quiet is what woke him up! And the coyotes made him get up & go outside & bang things around in the barn while he got the generator going. This morning I got 3 bags of clothes ready to give away & wrapped and labeled 120 lb of venison burger. I knew when I came upstairs, though, that the kitchen was a disaster-yuck.
Anyway, I'll share some pics from the last couple days. Here's Alyssa keeping me company while I fold laundry:
Here's Susanna making an animal parade while Alyssa watched:
Monday morning Pat & I went to the store w/ the 2 little girls. Susanna got a bag of M&Ms at the checkout-which is a rare treat. On the way home she got thru half the bag & I asked her if she was going to save some for Hannah & Jonah. She said "No."
I mentioned that if it was Jonah, he'd be be saving his to share w/ his siblings. I asked her why she wasn't and she said "because I want to eat them all myself."
LOL. It was a funny conversation, but now I'm working on encouraging her to be more generous & to think of others.
She finished her candy and I mentioned how it was too bad she didn't get to have the happy feeling you get when you share. So, she dug around in her carseat, found an M&M and split it half to give to Hannah & Jonah. LOL. Funny girl.
I had extra Italian bread yesterday, so I made "eggs in a nest." Susanna had never had it before & was thrilled with the whole process. I just love being able to use leftovers to make something delicious. With the insides, I made french toast nuggets. Here's the bread & egg started:
And here they are finished:
Here's a very sweet picture of Alyssa holding Jonah's face. She now grabs our faces and gives us open mouth kisses, which is the sweetest thing ever!
Here she is playing with a toy from "Haba." They make my favorite baby toys:
Well, I better scoot. Have lots more to do today-still organizing & decluttering & hope to get more schooling in.

We were away from our regular home for a while and the silence there hurt my dh's ears (he said). I love the silence, I would probably not be to thrilled about the coyotes.
Your photos are great and so are all the activities!!!
That egg in a basket meal we call a 'One Eyed Texan'. Don't ask me why!! I think your naming of it is much nicer!
How fairly was that M+M split in half!??! ;-)
Too cute!!!

Wow, the picture of the egg in the bread brought back memories. We called it bird's eye when I grew up in Michigan. Why do you call it bird's nest? (just curious)
I love the toddler in the special seat. That is such a cute seat.
What cute children. The pics are so adorable. Sorry to hear you lost electricity.
