Yesterday morning my husband and oldest son went fishing...they caught 2 Crappie and 4 White Bass...Yum-O! Fish in the freezer!
Yesterday I got my first copy of The Old Schoolhouse magazine, which is a magazine for Christian, homeschooling families. I was even more convicted and determined to NOT place my boys back in the public school dungeons, for the dragons to devour them up. I know now, with all my heart and complete peace from the Lord, that keeping my boys home and homeschooling them, is God's Will for my family. Nothing is ever going to change my mind. I really enjoyed reading about the Founding Fathers, and I even learned about New Zealand...My I didn't even know where it was located before reading about it in this magazine! My heart melted as I read about the missionary family located in Mexico, and I was laughing along with the mum in England as she described her feelings of making a rodent cake. Would I? I'm not sure.....
I also spent some time working on the bills. It was that time of the month. I am working steadily on eliminating our debt, around 19,000. I have been snowballing it since October. Instead of taking the snowball and applying it to the smallest balance, I decided to put it toward the highest. Seeing $206 in finance charges about gave me a heart attack! So I was able to basically DOUBLE the minimum payment due....After a sobering look at the checkbook for the last month, I need to rein in the spending...I spent way too much that would not be compatible for our future goals. The boys and I ate out too much last month, and I spent too much money on Starbucks. Seems to be at odds with the natural and organic eating that I provide for my family at home....so am going to be more diligent about this. If there is anyone out there who would like an accountability partner in this area, feel free to contact me!!
This morning the boys were involved in Science as they watched husband clean out the fish *ew*....They insisted on pancakes and bacon like Laura and Mary in "Little House on the Prairie".....
This afternoon brings about a boisterous game of Risk, which we bought on Friday night. WHO KNEW that addition facts, geography, and logic could be so much fun?! I've also got a hamburger soup cooking in the Crockpot...mmmm....I am going to make some biscuits to go along with it here in a little bit....
I've been typing around on here all afternoon, listening to the Risk game and watching my baby boy throwing Yahtzee dice...
Tonight I will call my dad as I do every night just about. He had a brain aneurysm in October and I've been keeping tabs on him from afar....He is doing well now and life is back to normal for him. I will also call my baby girl after she gets home from church. Her Sundays are very busy.

That hamburger soup sounds so good. Yum! You just may have inspired tomorrow's dinner.
I'm paying off debts, too. I'd love to partner with you.
Right now, I'm going cash-only for groceries and incidentals, which puts me on a good strict budget and reigns in my spending. I pay everything else with online bill-pay. It helps me keep up with things better than when I used the debit card and checks.
I'll put you in friends!
