Nature Friend Magazine

We were absolutely thrilled to receive the August and September Study Guide Editions of Nature Friend Magazine.

This is a creation based nature magazine geared for the whole family. Six of the twelve issues per year are geared for older family members. In the regular part of the magazine there are lots of areas of reader participation including crossword puzzles and pictures to draw, find the hidden picture, as well as poems and pictures submitted by readers.  If you choose to purchase the study guide along with the magazine, you will receive the magazine with a study guide inserted in the center that reinforces what was learned in the magazine as well as bonus features such as "A Study in Nature: a Lesson in Writing", which teaches creative writing, and my oldest daughters favorite part of the magazine which is "The Photo Critique" that teaches nature photography tips.

This magazine is absolutely beautiful, and portrays God's creation in the magnificent way which I believe it was created for. The quality of materials and photos used are great. The articles included in the two editions we received were interesting, but not too long to lose the girl's interest.

I beleive this magazine could be easily used for science/ nature study throughout the school year, especially with the study guide included.

Subscriptions to Nature Friend magazine are $36.00 for one year or $68.00 for two years. The study guide can be added for an additional $2.00 per issue, or $24.00 per year.

This cost is higher than many other magazines we've subscribed to in the past, but I personally believe it's well worth the extra money for the creation-based format, which brings peace of mind knowing that you can hand this off to your children right out of the mailbox and know that they will be soaking up God's creation. We've used magazine subscriptions in the past as gifts, and I'm really excited to add this to my potential gift list!

You can see samples of some of the beautiful photography and samples of the magazine on the website.
