Here is a phrase that a friend of my mother-in-law uses on her kids....

"You get what you get and you don't throw a fit!"

Isn't that great?! I have been using it on my daughter lately. It's a good way to nip whining and complaining in the bud. Maybe it will work for you.

I love good sayings and this is one.(0; As time goes by I will be focusing on my CM goings on. Right now I am caught up in the deepness of the book " The Squire and the Scroll". I am doing some reflections.
One saying for you if you haven't heard it yet.

" You are neither salt nor sugar so you won't melt" ( pertaining to going out in the rain, hee hee (0: )

I just LOVE that phrase! We were at a friend's house for her daughter's birthday party and she said that... I told her that I, too, must be allowed to use it -- "You get what you get and you don't have a fit!" My kids have even started saying it. It is a catchy little thing, isn't it??

I was using that on my kids - and it worked. But I recently changed it to teach them more about contentment - not just the lack of a fit. I now say, "You get what you get and are content with it." I have to remember this too.
