Aug. 27, 2006 - Our Daily Schedule

Posted in Scheduling

This is our daily schedule for Monday through Friday.  We don't stick to it exactly.  In fact, this is new and something we are working on.  I have not completed a whole day yet!  But is helps as a guide.  The times are only approximate....I don't set a timer - but I will if I need to!  Some things are still up in the air as far as when is the best time to do them.  I am also tired enough for bed much earlier than 10pm...not sure what to do about that.  If tiredness were not a factor we could all get a lot more done.  But God designed us to need rest so we should take it.

Here is what we are working with at the moment.....

5:30 - Mom up, read Bible, exercise, get dressed.
*** Update (2/3/07) - I have not been getting up at 5:30 am!!

Start Laundry

8:30 - SugarBean and Little Mister

8:40 - SugarBean - Math
Little Mister - Play with blocks or draw on chalkboard

SugarBean helps with this (on art practical days we will probably skip this or do it later since he will be into the art as well.)

10:00 - Read stories on couch
May also read poetry at this time

10:20 - Work in Flylady Zone - all help

10:40 - SugarBean and Little Mister play outside or we go for a walk.
This is also the time we will run an errand if it is necessary.

11:20- Start getting ready for lunch
Daddy usually comes home for lunch so we like to get it ready by noon.

12:00 - Lunch
            Read Poetry during lunch
            Table chores
            Play with Daddy

2:00 - History/Art Appreciation/etc - different subject depending on the day.

2:20 - Rest time for SugarBean
Rest time for Mom - computer, read, etc...

3:30 - Little Mister up from nap and SugarBean up from rest
          Play outside or other activity

4:00 - Afternoon Chores - pick up house
Children’s Bedroom management (from Large Family Logistics)
          - work on tidying bedroom for 10 minutes
         Put laundry away

4:30 - Help get ready for dinner

5:15 -  Dinner
           Followed by table chores
SugarBean read to Daddy (phonics story she did earlier)

6:00-7:00 - Family time
Play, read, may work on some habit training i.e Obedience drills
Wed. is Bible Study a 7 pm so we usually get cleaned up and ready during this time.
Thurs. is  Devo. and Game night

7:00 - Bath (not every day)
          Get ready for bed
           Story in bed

7:30/8:00 - Lights out for SugarBean and Little Mister

8:00 - Finish chores
          Bible class (on Wednesdays)
          Prep for lessons

9:00 Time with hubby

10:00 Lights out!

***Update:  I have yet to keep this schedule.  It is my dream schedule I suppose

I so wish I could make myself get up early. I know that people who do, feel better about their whole day. I'm sure if I were go get up early, drink my coffee and read my daily verses I'd be in a great frame of mind. So -Tomorrow I will set my alarm for 6:45. My kids usually get up about 7:30, so that should give me my time. Thanks for motivating me to try it again.

You will have to let me know how it works for you, we are starting school here tomorrow so we will see how this year schedule goes, hopefully smooth (ah hah!) who am I kidding? My DH's dream vacation is Australia, he has always wanted to go there ever since I've known him, hopefully someday we can.

I admire your schedule! I wish I was as organized. I do get up that early to help my hubby out the door. But that is where the similarities end...

Aug. 27, 2006 - Thank you!

Stacy, thank you for the note of encouragement for my post! I haven't heard back from my friend since I sent it to her on Saturday!

I enjoyed looking at your schedule. I too noticed that you get up and exercise early! I want to do that at 11PM when I am getting ready for bed, but by 6AM I have totally changed my mind! My girls are old enough now that I can walk on the tredmill while the read silently (3yo just loves to look and pretend to read), but then many times it gets put off! I really enjoy the structure of a schedule, too! Back when I taught in ps the schedule was so rigid. Now, I can change it if I want. Although one day my oldest said, "Mommy why did you put the schedule on the wall if you aren't going to use it! LOL Have a great week! In Him, Eva

Well, it certainly is a small world!! =) How neat!

I love your schedule. My goodness if only I could stick to one. I'm just not the schedule girl, though. I certainly think it would nice to get my life somewhat organized, though.

I hope you you have a wonderful Monday!
Take care friend!

I love reading other peoples' schedules! Looks great. I particularly love the 5:30 rise for Bible and exercise. That is my goal; I make it... sometimes! :-)
