Sep. 4, 2006 - Crocodile Hunter dies

Posted in Australia Info

This morning I got on the computer and saw that Steve Irwin, better known as,"The Crocodile Hunter", had died.  He was killed by a Stingray.

It made  me sad because he was only 44 years old with a wife and two kids (8 year old daughter and nearly 3 year old son). I'm sure he knew the risks involved in doing what he loved to do.

He is one of the most well known Australians and lots of fun to watch.

Personally, I thought he was hilarious.  He seemed like a good "bloke".
I'm sure that many will miss his antics!

I have read quite a few tributes to him today and am happy that so many loved this fellow Aussie.

Here are a few links about him:

I'm glad you liked the pics I posted. I wonder sometimes if I bore people since I post so many, but I just love taking them! :o)
I also posted about Steve Irwin today..I know my family has felt so sad and will really miss watching his adventures...he was quite a character! I have always wanted to visit Australia and I love all the info on your blog--it gives me a peek into it from so far away! If you don't mind, I'd like to add you to my friends list so I can keep checking back.

I just heard that he died on the news. So sad. Sting Ray very odd. That doesn't happen very often. Hope you are doing well.

I feel terrible about this, & especially about his kids. This was very very sad. I had a link posted on my blog about it too. He was one of those "TV personalities" I felt was a nice guy, like he could be anyone's friend. Prayers are with his family...

I don't know what is going on but this has really had an affect on me today. I have broken down in tears several times, when thinking of them. I just can't imagine the pain and heartache they are all going through and just the fact that this full of life-animal loving man is gone. I have a hard time dealing with people passing away that were obviously good people.

Anyway on a lighter note I would LOVE to be your friend!!! :0) I love your blog it is soooo cute. Stop by anytime to say HI!

JOYfully in Him,
Kelli

Life is so fragile. All the dangerous things Mr. Irwin had done and yet it was basically harmless sting-rays that got him.

It makes me think that the Lord has probably saved Brian Jones, who was just at our house the other day, countless times.
