Sep. 7, 2006 - Home Management Binder

Posted in General

Do you have a Home Managemnet Binder that works for you?

I have spent some time putting together a binder that includes my schedules, cleaning routines, calender, homeschool stuff, emergency information etc, etc.  The problem is -I never open it.  The only time I do open it is to file something in there!

So what to do.....one thing I know that works for me is posting things where I can see them.  Putting my schedule on the wall, my menu plan on the fridge.  I also read at Preschoolers and Peace that she uses a clipboard.  That sounds like a great idea too.

If you have something that works for you, leave me a note.

I'll post more on this subject once I find a good plan for our home.

Have a great day.

Stacy

Stacy, I know what you mean when you say you never open your book. I don't either. But - after awhile you know what you should do for that particular day so you don't need to really look at it daily.

I just read an idea for kids. Take their chart and put it in a page protector, place it on the wall and they check things off as they do them. Sounded like a good idea to me.

Yes, I have a binder. Maybe I'll blog on that. It's got pretty much everything I need, & is more like a case then a binder, but it is ringed for paperwork. I have it organized into a section for each child, their subjects, an attendence sheet, & a log sheet of what they got done, weekly (each day is logged for each subject). I have my own lesson plans in the beginning of the book, where I can access them easier. I have an area for supplement info, since we each get various vitamins. That way I can log what was given, when, reactions etc. Soon I'll be making an area just for foods so I can log reactions. I have an area for cleaning & meal planning, & hope to use those soon :-)...

HI Stacy! For some reason, you've been on my mind! Praying for many blessings to be with you!

I made my own version of Cindy Rushton's "Brain in a Binder", and it helps a lot! Last year I carried it EVERYWHERE! but I haven't this year. You wanna know why? I just never printed out a 2006 calendar to put in it! Pretty silly.... (((((HUGS))))) sandi
