Oct. 6, 2006 - Co-op

Posted in Daily Living

Well, we survived the co-op this morning!  It was fun and also....not fun!! My daughter thought that everyone was sitting too close to her.  I was nervous because I had not even been to the co-op before , let alone taught there! I also had a feeling SugarBean would have one problem or another.

There were about 8 kids in my class.  The class I helped in had about 12.  It seemed like a very large group...especially when my kid didn’t want any of them near her!!

I was able to visit very briefly with some of the moms and am looking forward to getting to know them better.  So far most of my homeschooling friends are in other states, other countries and online (that would be you!).

In addition to the art classes, I did somehow volunteer to teach a lesson on Australia in the upcoming weeks .  Do you think I need to learn to use the word no a little more? It is very hard!!   I’ll probably post the Australia class ideas on here. Then any of you who want to teach your little ones a bit more about the land down under can do so(not that you can’t do it without my help! ).

Have a great day.
Stacy

Thank you for your comment...it was encouraging. You said it perfect, I do not feel like I am where the Lord wants me to be and it is so frustrating. I love though what He is teaching during my struggle.

I can't wait to read your Australia posts, they are going to be very interesting! Have a great day.

JOYfully in Him,
Kelli

co-ops are always fun, yet tiring. I wish my kids could sit in on your teaching about Austrailia!! Our family has always been fascinated by Australia. I would LOVE to visit one day. We even thought about looking for work down there at one time. Our kids start PE class next week. It's a free PE class for homeschoolers that the university offers. I am looking forward to meeting more moms!

God bless ya!

We just started a co-op too. It is an interesting event. I get the impression that I don't have the same opinions as the others in my group so we will see how long this lasts.
Good luck on saying no once in a while! ;)

The first year I did a coop, I thought this is not going to work out for us, but we have all came to really enjoy it! It takes some time getting to know everyone and for your children to meet other children but it can be quite nice when you settle in.

The class sounds wonderful! If you do post ideas online I'm sure we'll use them; my son & I would enjoy that.

Oct. 11, 2006 - Just Say No

We've coined a phrase to describe the need some of us have to volunteer to "help" with things even when we KNOW we should be saying No. It's called "helium hand" and I have the disease. LOL Co-ops are awesome though, I absolutely love ours - even though I too, will be finding myself teaching a class this year. How do these things HAPPEN?

Blessings,
Kym
