A number of people have mentioned that they would like to read the entire Bible this year. Last year I did not make it all the way through but I am going for it again this year.
Did you know that if you read three and a half chapters each day you will read through the Bible in one year?
I plan to read 3 chapters one day and four the next, switching back and forth. There are some occasions where I will read more; I especially like to read the shorter books in one sitting when possible. Reading in one sitting helps me to see themes throughout.
Also, if you feel like reading through Proverbs in a month, simply read a chapter a day (since there are only 31 chapters).
Reading the Bible each year is such a good way to learn. Of course it is also good to do in depth study at times, but I find that in reading the Bible this way it is easy to see how God worked. You see his plans unfold and cannot help note certain themes which continue to arise.
Just thought I'd share this tip. |
