Mar. 28, 2007 - Words of wisdom

Posted in SugarBean and Little Mister Quotes

A few days ago my 5 year old daughter said,

"Mommy,  I want to grow up and be a good person, so don't give me everything I want"

I was so surprised!!

She doesn't get everything she wants.  I'm glad she knows it's good for her

Isn't she smart?! :) What a good girl!

Stacy, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner on your adoption question. That's wonderful that your husband is open to adoption. I have to say, I had to smile a teeny bit when I read the prerequisites, though--- a closed adoption AND an inexpensive one. Hmm. I think the only way to ensure a closed adoption is to do a private adoption (in the states, thus, lawyer fees, thus... expensive!) OR to adopt internationally (which is also expensive). If I were you I would figure out what you want (international or domestic (w/in the states)) first, and then do research from there.

Also, I want to emphasize that if God wants this to happen, NO AMOUNT of money is too small for Him to provide for you to do this! Mark and I did not even have the first $195 to begin our adoption (we had a garage sale to raise that money), and God provided every cent from there on out. He is so faithful.

Continue to pray that God will open doors and lead you where He wants you to go. He will.

I forgot to add that there are MANY grants you can apply for in order to get financial help so that you adopt. We applied to several (5 or 6) and ended up receiving over $5000 that way.

Hi Stacy, It's been a while since I stopped by. Things have been quite hectic for me that I haven't even been able to keep up on my blog.

Your little daughter sounds like she's growing in wisdom. Wonderful!

Sweet words to a mum's heart. I love the name of your blog. Being diligent is my middle name! I've often seen your name on Keri's blog and thought I'd drop in and take a look around. Very nice blog. Thanks.

Hey, your little girl sure has her head on straight! Good job, Mom! Let's hope she continues to feel that way. We just spent a week in a town called Leavenworth in Washington state and they had an Australian store there. I thought of you! I posted about our trip if you want to know more. Have a great week. You can ship your extra waffles to us anytime you want!

Teach me how you did that! From my four year old I get, "It's no fair! I never get to do anything!" as she stomps off to her room to sulk.
Luckily, I've learned from her big sister that 4y.o. teen attitude makes for a much nicer teen.
Peace and Laughter,
Cristina
