May. 23, 2007 - Homemade Laundry Soap revisitied

Posted in Homemaking

In December we made our own laundry soap for the very first time.  Let me tell you - there is no turning back!  It works very well and is so inexpensive.  Not to mention that it is very quick and easy to make.

If you have not given it a try, you should.  It's worth it.  Click here to view my original post with instructions.

We used a different soap this time and it came out a little thinner - but it still works.  My daughter filled up all of these containers, plus another 1 gallon container that I forgot to include in the picture:

This is one batch!  Lots of soap, little money!  You should try it

A great homeschool lesson too.

OK, you are the second person today I have read about doing your own laundry soap. I think God is trying to tell me something!

I never realized you could make your own laundry soap. Except for finding borax, that sounds so easy! Is it really cheaper? We'll have to try it out.

That is SOOO cool!! I was just talking to a friend today about making home made laundry soap. I really want to try it. Have you seen Bridget's post about making laundry soap? http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/purityseekers/296173/ I can't wait till payday, so I can get all of my ingredients! I bet it saves a lot of money in the long run. It would be really cool to find a recipe for homemade dishwasher soap too.

Thanks for the post! I just made a half batch today, using white dial soap and baking soda instead. I will officially test it tomorrow!
