Hello there online buddies! Long time, no post!
We have been visiting family in California and having a grand time. We are home now and trying to get into some sort of routine. It’s almost time for 1st grade to begin. How exciting!
While on vacation we visited a great aquarium, went camping and played on the beach. Our beach trip was short but fun.
Our camping trip was the first time we slept in tents with the kids. The Bible camp we went to last month has cabins. They are rustic...but they are still cabins. The kids had a great time. The river at the camp ground was low and the kids were able to play in it without any trouble. I was really pleased with SugarBean. She floated around in an inner tube for most of the day. This is HUGE of her since she is afraid of almost everything!! She looked so peaceful. She also turned 6 while we were in California!
My son had a wonderful time swimming around too. He had arm floaties on and also a small inner tube. He swam all over the place. I’m sure he thinks he is a great swimmer!! We have to watch him carefully around the water!
My nephew came to the camp ground in the day time. As you may remember, he is autistic. It was a great success for him and we were all so very happy! He played in the water and went exploring the river with his Grandpa. He looked very peaceful too. Continue to keep him in your prayers as he goes thorough different treatments and tries so hard to do the things he needs to.
It was wonderful to be able to go to this particular camping spot since my mother-in-law first camped there when she was about six weeks old. Her mother had been camping there long before that, so it is a family tradition. My Gandmother-in-law was able to come one day with my sister-in-law, so there were four generations! I should have taken a picture of all the girls!! Oh well.
After our camping trip my husband held his first gospel meeting. He preached some great sermons. I hope to add a few of them to my side bar as soon as possible. In fact, I was trying to figure out if they could be recorded and available for download. I wish you could all hear him. He is a very good preacher. Not only is he easy to listen to but he puts at least 20 hours of study into one sermon...so he has some good stuff to say! He works so hard at finding truth. He doesn’t preach to tickle ears, he does his best to find truth and communicate it. Am I bragging? :) I can’t help it. It makes me so happy to see him striving to be a better man. To be a man of God. His mom is so proud of him. I can only imagine how great it must feel to see your child grow into a strong Christian who desires to please God. I hope and pray that I will see that in my own children (don’t we all?)!
To my friends who have left comments for me while I have been away: Thank you so much. I hope to respond to you all individually soon. Know that I really do appreciate your kind words.
Up next: Yesterday I ordered a bunch of stuff to make my own shampoos, soaps and household cleaners...stay tuned!
One last cute thing: My son, who is 2, has been singing The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Instead of saying "itsy bitsy," he says, "The Itchy, itchy spider" Isn't that cute!!? |
