We are feeling a little sad today. My mother-in-law left this morning to go back to California. We have spent almost a month together. She drove out to be a cabin leader at the camp my husband directs. Then we drove home with her to visit family and for the gospel meeting. After that she drove us home and stayed a few days. Today she dives back to her own home.! Whew!!
I am truly thankful to have such a great mother-in-law and such a great grandmother for my children. She is a faithful Christian woman. A wonderful example to me and to so many others (Cheryl - if you are reading this I know you are saying “Amen!”).
I look forward to heaven when there will be no more parting. I often wish to live close to family. I have great family in the U.S.A and great family in Australia. Thankfully we have the internet and fairly inexpensive phone rates! Although we are not together I see that I am truly blessed.
One of my favorite memories from this vacation is my mother-in-law giving us all a lesson on the potter’s wheel. We each made bowls and had our very own turn on the wheel. Talk about fun! It is actually very difficult. I had no idea. It made me appreciate her talent even more.
Here are some pictures of my kids on the wheel:
Little Mister thought he was an expert after his turn and told me what to do the whole time I was trying to throw a pot!
SugarBean tried really hard and made a cute bowl. She loved having her hands in the clay!
It took me a while to figure out blog-sphere, but I wanted to say thanks for leaving a comment on my blog back in June. I've really enjoyed looking through your blog also.
That pottery wheel looks like fun! I have a wonderful mother in law too. She has baked lots of goodies for my son's special diet and tries to be supportive in all we do. Glad you are back and I look forward to reading your future posts!
