Oct. 19, 2007 - Grocery Fun!

I have been shopping with coupons and preparing meals around store sales for about a month now. It is still a little time consuming, but I am improving.

Albertsons' provided me with a happy moment today when I purchased the following for $3.35 (including tax)

That's 3 bags of Hershey's Chocolate Chips, 1 bottle of Hershey's Syrup and one can of Enchilada Sauce.

My receipt showed $10.46 in savings.

All coupons were from Albertsons' (two from their sales flyer and one from the store itself).

The sale is on until Tuesday Oct. 23. If you have an Albertsons' close by...go check out this deal!

I feel a little silly posting this on my blog - but a good deal really is exciting!

my reciepts were always like yours. i would buy $100 worth of groceries for $50. you should check out their website, they offer a 4 week trial for $1. they tell you when to use your coupons.

I have not been blogging in a long time, but I am back and glad to come and catch up with your blog here! I have done lots of the same things you are trying to save on the grocery budget, and you are inspiring me to get back on the frugal train more aggressively! One thing I have not seen you post about is Angel Food. Have you heard of that? We started doing it a few months ago and it has helped us save a TON! The site is www.angelfoodministries.org. While they have a huge ministry to those in need, their program is available to anyone who is interested in participating and especially wonderful in helping those on a budget.

Hey, don't feel silly! I love a deal, too! I recently posted a great deal I got on my blogspot blog (3 prs of cool jeans for under $40!)

'Good on ya' for the deal you got at Albertson's. I have to ask: Those items don't all go into the same recipe, do they? LOL!

I clip coupons and try to shop sales, too. It is time consuming but it's such a thrill for me, the non-wage earner in my family, to save a dollar or more when I can. It's like earning a bit, you know?

Keep up the good work. A penny saved is a penny earned!

I just started coupon shopping too! I bought two boxes of brownie mix for one dollar and three boxes of Cheerios for three dollars. Pretty crazy deals with coupons!
