Nov. 10, 2007 - Best Fall Desserts

Posted in Cooking and Baking

I want to make a fancy fall dessert this friday.  I can't decide what to make!

So far it is between the following:

Marbled Pumpkin Cheescake

Pumpkin Cheesecake

Autumn Harvest Pie

Spiced Pumpkin Layer Cake

Chocolate Pecan Pie

Caramel Apple Cake

What do you think?

I could make two different ones....

This is a very special occasion.

A dear friend of mine (who is also a homeschooling mom) will be coming for dinner with her husband and four kiddies.  Joining us will be the preacher and his wife, who lived in the house where we now reside for 11 years.

The first time my friend came over she realized that she had been here before.  Come to find out, the preacher and his wife would pick her up and bring her to church when she was a young teenager (she lived in a children's home at the time).  They even tried to adopt her!  Isn't that amazing!?  They haven't seen each other in many years.

Needless to say, this is a special occasion and I want a good dessert!

Feel free to point me in the direction of any good recipes you have seen online.

I would pick if I were coming over: carmel apple cake or pumpkin cheesecake.

Have you ever tried Upside Down Caramel Apple Pie?

They all sound wonderfully declicious. My personal pick would be the marbled pumpkin cheesecake. The pic of it made my mouth water!

Wow! What a blessing for them to get to meet again. I am sure they were a great influence in your friends life. That just goes to show how much we can impact someone's life, even if we may or may not know the fruit of the work.
Enjoy and let us know which dessert or desserts you made.

That is an amazing story! What a wonderful reunion. I personally would choose the Spiced Pumpkin Layered Cake, it sounds really good.

JOYfully in Him,

What a neat reunion the folks you are inviting over will be having. Happy endings - I love them.

Chocolate Pecan Pie - I've never had that. I'd like to try it though. :) I have made a Pumpkin Cheesecake (Cheesecake Factory copy) and I didn't find it anything special. So I would skip that one.

You asked how old Serenity, who's working at the loom is. She is 9 1/2. A weaving loom for your daughter - that's sounds pretty neat!
