Show and Tell
Show off those talents. Share a story, a special moment, a piece of artwork. Any accomplishment, great or small, is fair game.
My daughter's favorite thing to do is draw. She doesn't care much for drawing with colors, just pen. I've shared a few of her pictures in the past....one of my favorites is the Pregnant Alphabet. Another is the book about the Spaceship (click here if you want to see it).
I can’t remember when she started drawing so much, but I know she was doing it at the beginning of our schooling days. We would practice writing the letter E, and I would ask her to draw an E picture; this is the kind of thing I would get:

E people carrying eggs!
An up close look:

An E fishing and and E in a baby carriage!
Here are a few more recent pictures - I dug them out of her room today:
Here is another:
She draws many like this - LOTS of detail! (She draws really fast too.)
My son, 3 years old, is also developing his artistic ability.
It wasn't long ago that everything he drew was eating a noodle:
I love these pictures!
Now he has moved on to cute little guys like this:
And more recently:
Okay, I'll stop now. I know I'm going overboard - but I cant help it!
To me, these are adorable!

Um...in that last one...is that you dragging him by his hair?
Love the photos! My daughter loves to draw, too. Her art set and sketch book are her most prized possessions.

When I taught cardiac nursing, I am pretty sure my hearts looked a lot like the third to the last drawing. My students got a chuckle out of my drawings.
Your childrens drawings are great! |

How cute! When dd was in kindergarten years, she spent all of her time drawing out phonics words! Amazing since she struggled with long vowels, and later 3+ syllable words.

I think she needs to make an alphabet book. I love the creative minds of little people.

| Great pictures! I especially loved the detail in your daughter's drawings! Today we just received a shipment of homeschool materials, including Draw Write Now. My daughter insisted on our doing two lessons this afternoon. It looks like a great resource for art-loving students. |

Great works of art! They are just precious. My now 9yo ds used to draw detailed things like your dd - the one that looks like all the steps going up the side... he used to do those when he was maybe 4yo and when I asked him what was in the picture, he just told me they were "jelly machines" Oooooo kaaaaaay.... LOL But I definitely kept a couple of them for the scrapbook!
Thanks for sharing the lovely talents of your little ones!!!
Blessings,
Kym |

I love the whole idea of being able to look at what other home schoolers are doing with their children! Your children's drawings are great. My son is now almost 10 and still loves to sit and draw with a pen or pencil. Years ago he used to draw the Titanic (crazy about boats) then Star Trek etc.Now he draws Transformers!
Keep up the good work.
God bless.
