As part of the Homeschool Crew I received a CD from Bible Story Songs to review. The CD we received is titled: MATTHEW, VOLUME 1 Jesus Christ is the King. It covers Chapters 1 - 8 of the book of Matthew.
I was quite impressed that one CD of 30 songs covered only 8 chapters of the Bible. That’s a lot of songs for 8 chapters! And the CD runs for 55 minutes too!
Some of the songs cover one or more verses exactly, while others teach a thought or idea. Each song corresponds to a verse or set of verses which are referenced on the back of the CD.
I have always been a big fan of singing to learn. I think it is a wonderful way for children (and adults) to really internalize facts and truths.
There are a lot of fun tunes on this CD which would certainly help in learning the Bible. My only desire is that it was a cappella and not set to instrumental music. With that said, I hope to learn some of the songs and sing them in Bible class and also with my children. The fact that lyrics are included in the CD insert will help with that.
