Saturday 30 May 2009 - Time to fight!!!!

Don't worry, this is a good post, it has inteligences, and it is about a noble cause. *Climbs up on soap box* Yes, I am going to rant, so hold on.
Life is unfair, everything about it. It is unfair when you get home from work to find your brother ate all the white chocolate popcorn while you were gone. It is unfair when you stub your toe in the middle of the night, it is unfair when your dog eats your muffian. It is unfair when your computer gets hit by lightening, It is unfair when your brother can write better stories then you. But, in my travels, in my journeyings over the earth, I have found the unfairest thing...ever. It is unfair that authors have to use computers. Here are my reasons.
 1. They hate us, and delight in tormenting us. They eat our stories, don't start, or over heat, they do all their crocked minds can think up.
 2. We cannot take them and write outside, up a tree, by a lake, in those truly inspiring places, for Sarah and Theynore it is probably some creepy forest...
 3. What looks more authorish, someone carrying around a notebook with inkstained fingers...or a laptop
 4. People think we are geeks, they have NO clue there is a HUGE differance between a computer geek and an author.
 5. They make us blind, yes, blind. I had to get glasses because my computer ruined my eyesight, now the ground rocks like a ship. Do you know how hard it is to be a spy and Ranger in glasses?!
So, this post is for all you authors. It is time we stood up against the, editors, and all those who insist we write on computers! We shall go on picket! We shall protest! Let's scare the world out of its boots!!! NO MORE COMPUTERS!!!!!

It is too late for me, I am stuck with glasses, but maybe there is hope for the next generation, we can save them from bad eyesight and useless troubles!!! Are you will me? Will you take up the battle? Good! Draw your sword, and RUN YOUR COMPUTER THROUGH!!!!

There, I've said my peace, I can sleep better tonight.
*Steps off soap box and disappears into the nearest forest*

Sunday 31 May 2009 - *runs around waving inkstained fingers and non-blue pens*

HUZZAH!!! BRAVO JACK!! Yes, I absolutely love the idea of writing in a notebook, with pencils and a pen tucked behind my ear. Sitting up in a tree, delighting in the wind.*sighs wistfully*
The only problem is, I absolutely despise writing by hand. It's just that, my handwriting is so ugly, and it takes so long to write down everything that comes to mind, and on the computer it's so easy to erase a mistake...
If I had better writing I would like to use a notebook. I suppose I'll have to practice, only it's so frustrating. *groans.......then gasps*
You have to get glasses? Oh dear Jack! Will you not get contacts? It is not the same as having perfect eyesight, but at least you can look up and see clear instead of blurriness at the top of your glasses! .....wait. Are you nearsighted are farsighted? I'm near. =~ But no matter, even with glasses I'm sure you'll be our loverly Jack Baillot's Ghost. *grins*

Now I must be off to wri-*faints* Woe is me! I forgot, I left my songbook at our friends' house and I know not when I can get it back! I am ruined! *faints again* Ach, I faint too much. *rewinds* Oh ruined am I! *put her hand over her eyes* Oh, and in case you didn't know what i meant by "songbook," I write songs. They are not that good, but yeah. They are songs. You know who is a good songwriter? SYDNEE!!!!!!!!! that song she wrote for baby Noah was soooo beautiful! Oh wait, I'm rambling. I must be off! Finally, to wri-*faints again* ah dear me. I guess I'm just going to have to write the post about me eating that snail....

Be blessed,
Zel ze warrior maiden

Actually, I have been using a computer to write my books since I was ten. What I like about it is that I can type about ten times faster than I can write, I can understand the writing when it is typed because sometimes I can't exactly understand my handwriting very easily when there is a lot of it. Also you get to order it and things, and Mum has printed the first chapter and a bit of the second chapter, and I've been painting pictures for illustraitions for each chapter and put them all together.
Though I do have a modern computer that never seems to mess things up. It is easy for me to say that.
Before I was ten I used to write books on paper - but the trouble was - they all got lost!!!! It was so awful! I lost about three entire books that way, but with the computer - well, that is not quite so easy to get lost.
I understand that with the use of paper you can sit outside in the garden and write or something, or somewhere interesting, but I find when I do that it always blows my paper around. Sometimes I have to chase the silly thing as it flys through the air. I think on one occasion it got eaten by a sheep or something as it blew into the feild. Hmmm..... and then you get your little brother or sister making paper aeroplanes and they say,"here's a good bit of paper"................. Well, anyway, there aren't, at the moment, any good things I can think about writing on paper eccept for the fact that I suppose it saves printing. And you can write it whenever you want I suppose.
I don't really need interesting surroundings to write. It just all comes no matter where I am. I get an idea and I write it down.
With a laptop you can write in interesting places. Mine is wireless, so I could use it on the swing or even in the car!
Though I can't say I really like writing on paper any more. I do happen to notice rather a difference in my writing ever since I started using a computer though. In the days when I used to sit in the three-hundred-year-old Scottish farmhouse in the evening when there was merely the glow of candlelight and the fire, and out of the old windows it was all dark - well, my story came out rather like that sort. But now that I write in a one-hundred-year-old house in England, at a computer or something, at the edge of a peacefull English village - well, everything doesn't seem Quite so mysterious and interesting as it did before - so I suppose you might be right. I wonder what it would be like to write inside a ruined castle? I was thinking of doing that once when we lived in Scotland. We had a ruined castle just not far from our house and we could walk there, it was just behind the river and the trees and it was standing in the middle of a lonely feild with no houses or anything anywhere near in sight and we used to go in it and explore it.
Well, anyway. I notice you are back after a long time of being away. and welcome back
Chezdak = D
