Show & Tell Friday ~ Wedding Favour
Posted in Show and Tell Friday

Last week Karen had a beautiful magnet for her show & tell from Hungary and it made me remember the pretty little magnet that I got from my Aunt when she got married.

Both my aunt and uncle were currently doing missionary work in the Ukraine when they met and quite a few years later when they decided to marry they went back again and were married there where they had been living in Dnepetrovsk. Some of the ladies that they grew to know as close friends in the Ukraine volunteered to hand paint these pretty little wooden magnets with their names and wedding date to give out to their family and friends. Such a special keepsake for them and for those of us who weren't able to make it.
Blessings,

Thanks for the comment. I am due in 7 weeks, sept. 14th. Just wanted to say, don't give up on the thought of a natural VBAC. You may not be able to do homebirths anymore, but natural VBAC is still possible. Find a good, competant midwife! I used to teach Bradley Method classes and had a student have a completely natural VBAC after 3 C/S's - even with a 9+ lb. baby!
I love these magnets, too, btw. I always enjoy your photos!

What a lovely wedding keepsake!!! My brother and his wife spent a few years as missionaries in Ukraine, so this was particulary interesting to me.
Blessings,

I love it, I'm into plaque's too. I'll have to share it next week. It's my Grandma's plaque's that were left to me.

How many do you think they had to make? Wow, that is special. And really neat that they are missionaries!

Praying the Lord blesses all they set their hands to and gives them His words as the open their mouths and hearts to the Ukranians.

My daughter-in-law was born and raised in Ukraine. God brought her here to meet my son while we were all teaching at a Christian school in Georgia. Her family still lives in Horlivka. Her mom is coming to the US for the very first time in September and she is in for culture shock then for sure. My son and dil went back there a year ago so her family could finally see her after four years. Her country and the people need prayer. Blessings.

It reminds me of other painted things I saw when I was in Hungary and the Ukraine back in the 90s. I'm glad you shared it.
