Getting Ready
Posted in Family

Tomorrow is L's 5th birthday and we are having a family celebration :) Her best friend who lives 2 hours away from us is unable to come so we are actually going to have a second birthday party on Thursday! We initially had some tears because L was extremely disappointed that they weren't going to make it right on her birthday but thoughts of two cakes and two parties seemed to cheer her up *grin*. Plus we've talked Tante (my sister) into coming up tomorrow as L's special guest :) L went into full party mode today. We picked out her dress, washed and braided her hair so that she would have pretty waved hair and even picked out seating arrangements! LOL.
I didn't realize until today just how important this birthday is to her. I know all birthdays are important events but this is the first year that she is SUPER excited about turning a new age, and she even made sure that we didn't tell her any of the secret plans because she wanted to be completely surprised and has taken part in planning it :) My little baby is growing up to be quite the event planner!
Blessings,

If she is anything like her mother, she'll grow up to be quite a planner, indeed! I can't believe she is 5.

Love the braids. Sorry I've been away and not visiting much these past few weeks. I'm still on a little blog vacation, but am posting periodically. School starts up in two weeks... so, I'll be back on a better schedule soon.
Have a great week.

Ohhh... how sweet! I have two girls (ages 8 & 6), and my younger one is all about making "her" day special!
Happy 5th Birthday, L!
(My 8 yo dd would TOTALLY love the pirate-y book! She loves to 'discover' things.)

Awwww! Happy Birthday! =D
The braid is beautiful! I used to take my oldest daughter to have hers braided. I couldn't never do anything beyond a basic ponytail braid.
