M's 3rd Birthday Party

Posted in Family

Yesterday was M's 3rd birthday party :) He has been so excited about his birthday party since big brother's party 2 weeks ago *grin*. All he's been talking about is when was it going to be his party and that he wanted a Thomas cake :)  Well the lucky little guy got his Thomas the Train cake....

and a super cool one at that! On top of it was a wind up Thomas that actually ran around the track. You should have seen his face when we came out with it singing happy birthday. I didn't think he was going to survive long enough to blow out his candles before he yanked Thomas right off the cake! LOL.

My mom got him one of his favorite movies, the Veggie Tales....

and I found a really cute wooden shape puzzle set for him. I just love wooden toys and this one is educational to boot :)

My sister and her husband were able to come up for the day which was really great. Unfortunately though the power decided to go out right when I was in the middle of preparing dinner. ACK! Luckily we have a generator though and I was able to finish getting everything cooked and the lights finally came back on just before 7pm :) Thank goodness that is the last birthday until summer now. We have been going in non-stop birthday mode twice a month since the beginning of December and I need a rest *grin*.

Blessings,

Hope you are well! Glad you get a rest when it comes to "birthday mode" now.

3? No way! Yes, way. What a nice cake and great presents. We love Thomas, still.

I love those wooden toys too...they're just so much more durable. My three year old got a set of blocks in different shapes and sizes for Christmas and all of our kids have enjoyed making various things including towers and horse pastures.

Did you make that cake? It looks great. I love the puzzle too. I think my little guy would like it.

My little guy is turning six in a few weeks and still LOVES Thomas. My other son is 3 years older so, about the time I thought I was done making Thomas cakes, I had to start making them for this one. I have made a Thomas cake for at least 5 years in a row now! That being said, I would love to know where you found the wind-up Thomas. That would be so much easier to just stick it on top of the cake. Yours turned out great! Please let me know.
Blessings to you and yours,
Andrea

~About Me~

Hello from Canada! I am a homeschooling mom to 3 very rambunctious children ages 10, 6 & 3 years old while holding down the fort as tug boat captain 'Dad' sails the seven seas *grin*. We're located on 40 acres in a tiny rural community in beautiful British Columbia and this is my quirky journal about our homeschool journey, running my home based business 'RosyUndPosy' making 'Eco Friendly Bags 4 Green Living', and everyday life home on the farm. Hope you enjoy your visit :)
