Thank you Secret Sister

Posted in Secret Sisters

Well my Secret Sister has done it again! She has sent me another wonderful little surprise in the mail : ) We have been on a soup kick lately so this is perfect. I can't wait to try the Cheesy Potato Soup recipe *grin* There are some really great rice dishes as well and for each recipe is a recipe tag to attach to the gift jar along with gingham material for the top of the jar and raffia for tying it on. I know what we're giving for Christmas gifts this year!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for blessing me with your little notes and gifts

Blessings,
BChsMamaof3

Thank You Secret Sister!

Posted in Secret Sisters

I just wanted to send a quick thank you to my very special Secret Sister : )
She sent me a cute little card and inside of it were two pretty post it note pads. I just love these and I have put them beside my computer so I can use them everyday. I'm always scribbling on little pieces of paper so now they will be in one spot! Thank you for the special treat and for keeping us in your prayers : )

Show & Tell Friday ~ Thank you Secret Sister!!

Posted in Secret Sisters

Oh what a wonderful little gift I found in my mailbox today! I have been excitedly waiting for a letter from my Secret Sister and to my surprise she sent me the cutest little Mary Engelbreit pincushion : )

Look isn't it cute !? And the red matches my kitchen perfectly. On top of it is a little pair of scissors, a spool of thread, a cloth flower and a sewing tape. The scissors and tape are usable to.

The top comes off and inside is a little storage are for your pins or perhaps some bobbins. It is just adorable! Thank you, thank you, thank you *grin*

Tucked inside the tea cup was a little scripture note for Psalm 23:5-6 reminding me that because of the Lord my cup overflows.

Bless you Secret Sister!

Secret Sister Session #2

Posted in Secret Sisters

Training Hearts is putting together another session of the Homeschool Mom Secret Sisters. The last one was a lot of fun. Each week we sent letters or little gifts or whatever you wanted to your secret sister through the postal service and in turn you received something in the mail each week from your secret sister.
This time instead of mailing out each week we are going to mail out 2 times a month to our secret sisters. This will be much easier to manage as I did find that once a week was nearly to much to keep up with, but I did and I'm going to do it again!!
Hurry on over to Training Hearts and sign up. There's still time and we are going to start in June.

Blessings,
BChsMamaof3

Thank you Secret Sister!

My Secret Sister has spoiled me again : )
This time she sent me this wonderful 3 pack of Spring Blossom, Summer Blossom, and Fall Blossom honey. We love using honey on toast so this is a special treat.

What is interesting is that each jar has a slightly different color than the others. I have never had honey from different seasons before. We usually buy our honey locally here at home and it is harvested in the fall only so I can't wait to try and taste the difference between them. The other difference is ours is Fireweed honey so it may have a completely different taste all together.

To bad my Secret Sister isn't closer to me so she could help me taste test them. After all of that baking and eating we did yesterday and today from the Foxvalleyfamily's recipes I really shouldn't start taste testing honey. I'm going to have to get my plump little behind outside and do some power walking to shed the extra pounds I've acquired *grin*

Blessings,
BChsMamaof3

I have the BEST Secret Sister!!

Posted in Secret Sisters

Okay, do I know you and you are really good at keeping a secret !?

You are always sending me the perfect devotionals : ) I loved the last one on Order in the Home. And how did you know that I love anything that has gingerbread and that I LOVE to quilt?? Oh, and you have the exact same writing paper and envelopes as I do!!

I got the most beautiful quilt pattern called the Seaside Rose by 3 Sisters and it was sent to me by MY Secret Sister. How cute!!
I also got a lovely little book called How to Tell the Birds from the Flowers. It has the funniest little drawings of birds and flowers. I shared it with the children and they loved it.

Thank you so much. You truly are a great Secret Sister : )

Blessings,

Thank you Secret Sister : )

Posted in Secret Sisters

I received another beautiful letter from my secret sister yesterday! I have been checking the mailbox each morning in anticipation of receiving another note : ) This week she included some wonderful prayers and scripture references. I have some reading to do.

I loved your comparison of a western saddle to a lawn chair! I ride western and that is what I love about the western saddle. It is relaxing and freeing to me. I have rode english a couple of times before but found it so restrictive and there were so many rules that I needed to follow. LOL. My son loves it though. I have been discussing with my husband though whether or not to keep him in lessons because he doesn't seem to be progressing or learning anything new : (
He has been doing the same things for nearly a year and it is very expensive for a weekly pony ride. I think this week I will have to speak with his instructor and find out what sort of goals she is going to set for him and where exactly we are headed so that I can see a reason to continue. I love that he has learned to ride so that in the near future when we have a shelter built and some of our fields fenced we can get a horse and he will know his way around it, but at the rate we are going I'd rather take him trail riding once a month so that he can still ride and enjoy time spent with horses.

My weight loss is at a stand still lately. I haven't been trying extremely hard to get it going again which I know I should but I am sort of enjoying my break : ) I haven't gained anything so as long as it stays that way I am happy where I am for now. I'll get going again here soon. I would like to be able to wear a bathing suit this summer so I can feel comfortable going swimming. So that is incentive to get the lead out! I can completely relate to the scale going up and not down. Isn't that frustrating?! Working so hard and all of a sudden you've gained. Grrr, but then you put on your favorite clothes and they fit better and then you feel better again. LOL.

My husbands tug is still out of the water. Sigh. It is taking much longer to get it repaired and back to work than originally expected. They took the engine out of it and sent it to town to get it rebuilt and apparently they found some new things that needed to be done to it and they had some trouble getting some of the parts so it is still not done. DH has been puttering around down at the dock doing some work on the boat that needed catching up on but that only lasts so long until there isn't much left to putter at : )

On the bright side we have had some much needed togetherness time which has been wonderful!! He had been so busy before Christmas that I only saw him a couple days out of each month and that makes it hard sometimes. It is so nice to have another authorative figure in the household to share the disciplining and parenting duties. It takes some getting used to on my part though as well since I am so used to being the only one and setting my own schedules and then all of a sudden there is someone else to figure into the equation : )

I have a friend with a husband that has just started working for another one of the local tug companies and she isn't sure how she feels about it. He had been doing some shipwright duties for them but is now going to work as a mate on one of the tugs hauling a chip barge. They will be towing it up to Prince Rupert where an American tug will then pick it up from them and tow it to Alaska where it will be filled with chips and then towed back to Rupert where they will be waiting for it. From there they will tow it to Vancouver for delivery and then back home again. Round trip it should take them 10 - 14 days give or take. So this is a big change for her from the regular day job to long periods of time with him gone. She has also just found out she is expecting baby #5 and is feeling a little overwhelmed : ( They are also looking for a permanent place to live as they are renting right now. I am trying to talk her into moving up to me. Grin. (She's 45 minutes away from where I live) Since I am in the same boat I would love to have a close friend to lean on and vice versa for her as well.

Okay enough rambling from me : ) I am loving your letters!! Can't wait for the next one.

Blessings,
BChsMamaof3

Secret Sisters : )

Posted in Secret Sisters

I got my Secret Sister last night!! I'm so excited. Shhh she doesn't know who I am so this is going to be really fun  : )
I get to send her little notes and gifts in the mail from February 1st - March 31st. I'm going to have to come up with some cute ideas. Someone else has gotten my name as well so I can't wait to see what part of the country it will be coming from.
At the end of March we will all reveal ourselves to our secret sister's and find out their identity. Sort of like having a secret admirer : )
Blessings, BChsMamaof3

~About Me~

Hello from Canada! I am a homeschooling mom to 3 very rambunctious children ages 10, 6 & 3 years old while holding down the fort as tug boat captain 'Dad' sails the seven seas *grin*. We're located on 40 acres in a tiny rural community in beautiful British Columbia and this is my quirky journal about our homeschool journey, running my home based business 'RosyUndPosy' making 'Eco Friendly Bags 4 Green Living', and everyday life home on the farm. Hope you enjoy your visit :)
