The Smokies Baseball team sponsors a summer reading program that allows children 12 and under to earn 2 bleacher seat tickets for reading 10 books, 10 chapters of a book or a parent and child reading 10 chapters or books together. About BHEA

BHEA is an association of independent homeschooling families that formed in the late 1980s to encourage successful home education in Blount County. The organization, which operates with the help of many parent volunteers, provides support, information and encouragement to over 200 homeschooling families. BHEA sponsors many activities throughout the year to enhance the educational program that each participating family provides at home.
