• Jul. 3, 2006 - Cub Scout Leaders Needed

Cub Scout Pack 442 wants to find people who may be interested in being a den leader for the coming year!  As a reminder, our meetings will be the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at First Christian Church in Maryville.
Cub Scouts is lots of fun for the boys and for the patents/leaders!  The boys make friends with boys their similar age, and develop character and confidence!
Den leader responsibilities may be shared between two people and we would like this to be the arrangement for this year.   We also will need parents who may be interested in working with the boys on a particular badge.  What follows is a brief description of what is involved:

1.  Participate in brief training sessions in September, provided by our district (this is usually 2 sessions, 2 hours each).  Training is in Maryville.
2.  Den meetings are twice monthly most months Sept-May.  All activities are already planned for you, you just have to coordinate obtaining necessary supplies, or scheduling you or someone else to help the boys work on their badges
3.  Alternate with a partner leader in leading the den meetings.  You may alternate every other meeting, leading a month at a time, or leading for half the year, which ever way works best for you
4.  Dens are boys that are all around the same age, and there will be about 5-8 boys in each den.
5.  The Tiger Den (1st grade boys), is the exception to the above.  There will be one or 2 leaders and parents are required to be present in the den meeting with their Tiger and parents take turns co-leading the den meeting each month.

Please call or email Sharon Wall, Pack Committee Chair ASAP if you are interested in more info about being a leader.  We have a fun year of activities planned for the Cub Scouts!  Contact #980-1790 or sonzmom@yahoo.com.  Thanks!
