Blount Home Education Association

• Jul. 17, 2007 - Getting Started in Homeschooling Seminars

If you are a new homeschooler, Smoky Mountain Home Education Association (SMHEA), in conjunction with BHEA, will be providing a Getting Started in Homeschooling seminar in August.  This will be much like BHEA's Homeschooling 101 that we provide each spring, but we thought it would be beneficial for SMHEA to present a similar seminar again in August for brand-new homeschoolers and those unable to attend our spring 101.

The  meeting will cover such topics as how to get started in home education, getting organized, basic information on Tennessee home education law, home school registration, choosing curriculum and
homeschooling high school students.

If you'd like to attend, please send an email to Sarah Small at shc.small@gmail.com or president@smhea.org to confirm a spot and to help us know how many materials to prepare. The seminar will be on August 20 , 6:30-8:30  at the Blount County library in Dorothy Herron Meeting Room A. This meeting is free and open to anyone; you don't have to be a BHEA or SMHEA member. SMHEA is doing three other seminars, too, in case you have friends in these areas:
