The only reason I even got started thinking about a "blog" for homeschooling was because my wife left on vacation for a week ... so I wanted to get on here and put in writing my thoughts and feelings about what my wife has been doing. I also believed that I could shed some light on homeschooling from a "mans" point of view.
So the first thing I want to say to my wife is ...
I AM SORRY ...
I am sorry for the things I have thought when we were on the phone and I was driving home from work ... I am sorry for the things I said after we got off the phone ... and most of all I am sorry that I have not done more to help you out and really be a "leader" for our home school. So today, on this Valentine's Day 2006 I pledge that I will become the real LEADER of our house for homeschool. I will help you with organization of the house so it is easier for all of you to use the computer and printout the pages and pages of "stuff" that you really need. I will really take over the bills and our finances ... because now I know that it is impossible to do what I have expected you to do these past two years. As far as the food ... well how dumb could I have been? I love to cook and to write recipes ... and I have cooked for the family ... but each time I did it so that I could get "something" for you not so I could help you and help lead our family. So now I vow that I will work with you to develop our meals and help to make it easier to put dinner on the table.
The last thing I would like to do is to document in here what I learned while you were on the cruise with all of Marybeth's girlfriends! This will take a few weeks ... so by the time you see this I should be done with telling you how much I have misunderstood what you are doing as a Homeschool Mom.
I also want you to know that I LOVE YOU. You are my best friend and my Lava! I vow to go back to our vows ... and Love you and our family as CHRIST loved the church.
