 I have certainly lacked in the art department with my children. It's not that I don't want to do art with them, it just seems I've not found an easy, comprehensive curriculum to use. And since there never seems to be enough hours in the day as it is, art seems to get pushed to the back! Well, not any longer! We have been introduced to the K-8 Christian Art Curriculum by Spears Art Studio. This program is so well layed out. It has a main theme for each week of the school year, including the different seasons and holidays that would fall into those time periods. In each of those weeks, it is even further broken down by grade level! We have been using this program with our 5th and 9th grade students. Since we really haven't done much art, our 9th grader was challenged enough doing the 8th grade projects. There was also a few projects in the different grade levels that my 5th grader went back and did on her own. Each lesson has the following for easy planning: the week's objectives, scripture for the week, vocabulary words, teacher prep, motivation and focus, materials needed, and activity instructions.
