First Week of My Diet
|
This is the first week of my diet, which is pretty shocking because since my last 3 kids I have really packed on the weight! I have gained 70 pounds in the last 15 years. I can't imagine why I haven't done anything about it before now, but somehow I guess I was stuck in my rut. My husband never seemed to mind, so I didn't feel a lot of pressure. Besides, I REALLY like doughnuts and Cheetos. So this past week I started a diet. I have lost 4 pounds so far! That is the only weight loss I've experienced since having my last baby, 2 1/2 years ago! Yay!

I am not in need of loosing weight, When I was pregnant and gainning "too much" (doctor said) I stopped eating things without thinking about them first. Did I need tons of mashed potatoes? rice? bread? chocolate chip cookies? Well no, and neither did my developing baby girl...so I began to eat smarter nothing was "off limits" but I watched how much and how often I ate. Breakfast consisted of my usual coffee, one protien item, one carb, and as much fruit as I wanted. snacks were minimal protien like cheese stick and apple slices, Lunch was a leafy green large salad with plenty of protien like chicken, or tuna. Dinner could be a reasonable amount of all the goodies I usually like including rice, potatoe, and pasta with extra veggies. I had one or two cookies when I wanted and drank whole milk cause I like it and I actually lost 3 pounds in two weeks...which was not my intent. I contenued to eat smarter for the remainder of my pregnancy. Then I breastfed and was less than the weight I was befrore I became pregnant. I am not trying to teach you anything but this really worked well for me and baby was very healthy too. I don't think that you have to deny yourself, because that will set you up to feel like a failure should you faulter. Remember to think positively about the choices you make. "I can have a piece of cake, and keep my diet anyway, I haven't given up." that sort of thing. God bless and be healthy!
