Papa John's Field Trip

Posted in Field Trips
So this morning me and the girls took Aaron to work. They had a blast helping him get the store ready to open and as a surprise he let them make their own mini pizzas. Emma learned how the giant can opener worked. I wish I had my camera but I wasn't expecting us to stay as long as we did. I'm counting that as a field trip. Plus we went to the post office today and so it was a double field trip day. lol

Fort Worth Zoo Homeschool Day 2007

Posted in Field Trips

It's taken me awhile to get all of these up. But here is our field trip last week to the FW Zoo. We were there from 11 to 4:30! What a long day.

But we took our bento's (lunches) and had a nice lunch before we went to the zoo keeper talk. Next time I will bring more than 1 bottle of water per person though! We kept refilling them at the water fountains (yuk).

Our October

Posted in Field Trips

On my regular daily life blog I posted what we will be doing this month and boy are we going to be busy! Everything is pretty much self explanatory. The Crossing Over ceremony is for my sis in law Nicole. She goes to Northwood University and Saturday she is "crossing over" to be a Knight. Aaron thought it would be cool to have the Knights as our homeschool mascot as well so I am making field trip shirts today to match Nicole's school colors (now our school colors too) and the girls can wear them to the ceremony.

Fort Worth Field Trip w/pics

Posted in Field Trips

Today was Ft. Worth's Day in the District where all of the museum's are FREE! So me and the kids headed out! First we went to Log Cabin Village where the kids got to see how life was back in colonial days. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a blast.

After we left there we went to the National Cowgirl Museum. The Ft. Worth Museum of Science and Natural History is being renovated so some of the exhibits are in the lower florr of the Cowgirl Museum. Next we headed down the street to the Amon Carter Art Museum. I have to say that I was nervous about taking the kids to that one. It was our last stop and almost 4 pm....I had them eat their lunches before we went in.

They were awesome inside and Sara was really interested in the artwork. She kept asking me questions about it. There were some pictures of Mt. Saint Helens and the trees all over the grounds and Sara said that they looked like grass. I was really proud of them and I think that I will see if I can set up a field trip there for 2008.

Here's the kids lunches we took along. The 1st one is Sara's. 2 heart shaped mustard sandwiches, a Hello Kitty container with Honey Bunnies, cheddar cheese and 2 boxes of raisins.

For Anthony and Emma we have cheese, smooshed fruit, Honey Bunnies, a tray of strawberries, apples and orange yogurt dip. Then ham, cheese and cream cheese heart sandwiches. We also brought frozen water bottles with us to drink.

1st Field trip of the school year

Posted in Field Trips

We took our 1st field trip of the school year yesterday. We went to the Dallas Zoo. It's a pretty cheap trip for us considering that we are members and it doesn't cost us anything to go! But here are 2 slideshows of our trip! If you click on the slideshow you can bring up the little menu to go forward or backwards.
